In this ipatsmi Gaming guide, we dive into the Black Myth: Wukong side quest where you get and use the Old Rattle-Drum to complete the mission and take down the Mad Tiger. We’re playing on our powerhouse gaming rig with an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X, nVidia RTX 4080, and 64GB of RAM, bringing the gameplay to life.
How to Get the Old Rattle-Drum:
To start, head to the Windrest Hamlet Shrine in Chapter 2’s Yellow Wind Formation. Follow the path straight until you reach a windy bridge, where you'll face the Tiger’s Acolyte. This boss has low HP but hits hard, and falling off the bridge is a risk, so be careful! Defeating him rewards you with the Old Rattle-Drum.
Where to Use the Old Rattle-Drum:
The Old Rattle-Drum can be used in three spots in Yellow Wind Formation and Sandgate Village, each time triggering enemies to rise and attack:
1. Windseal Gate: Start from the Windseal Gate Shrine, cross the rope bridge, and enter the area on the left. Use the drum when your screen turns grey, and fight the enemies.
2. Windrest Hamlet: From the Windrest Hamlet Shrine, turn around, go down the path into the village, and use the drum when the screen goes grey to fight more enemies.
3. Sandgate Village: At the Village Entrance Shrine, cross the bridge, follow the right path into the village, and head toward a large area near a well. Use the drum when the screen turns grey, and fight one last time.
Defeating the Mad Tiger:
After using the Old Rattle-Drum three times, a cutscene will play, and you’ll jump down a well to fight the Mad Tiger. Beat him to complete the quest!
