@@touremuhammad5983 There are already many gameplay videos released from 2020 to 2024, you can search them by yourself, he just make a summary of them.
Everything is souls like nowadays to most. I mean even after the devs of Phantom Blade clarified that their game was not souls like, people refused to acknowledge it and continue to call it so
😂 you didnt pay attention. There's no difficulty options so how it like the old God of war games? 😂😂😂 you can't blame people who think this is soullike when everything is almost like it. Why there's enemies reset? If they doesn't want it to be like soul like then stop making it similar to it.
Americans and their poor linguistic abilities as always. I find alot of American 'journalists' exhibit the exact same inflections on their reviews and it's so distracting to the point it's irritating to listen to. They're telling me information while simultaneously sounding like they're asking me a question. It's painful to listen to.
Couldn't say it better. Not only am i relieved that the combat won't be so unforgiving, I'm also grateful this means other aspects of the game will receive more love
If it takes place after Journey to the West wouldn't that mean Wu Kong would be the second strongest being in existence behind The Buddha. I mean he carried Mt. Sumeru which is the physical representation of the infinite universe on ONE shoulder. He jumped from the center of the universe to edge of it in 3 seconds. He was thrown in a de-immortalizing furnace to get around his immortality and it made him stronger. I don't see how the story takes place after all that
This is shaping up to be possibly one of my most anticipated games of recent time, that will actually deliver. Fingers crossed and they release something we all end up loving.
Sometimes exploration can actually be better and more meaningful in a more linear game. Open world games can sometimes have bland exploration, just finding random things to check off a list
I'm so glad it's not open world, not every game has to be the same sluggish experience. Look at Stellar Blade for example, that kind of level design is perfect.
I was on the fence before, just because i hadn't seen much gameplay, but this game looks like a great action game and im super excited! Day 1 pickup for me
The bit you said about the end and him being an impersonator gave me a flashback. I’m sure there’s a trailer out there where we see wukong meet another monkey that looks like him.
This has always been his design with the red feathers on his head and is quite defining of his character. Lots of chinese figures like lu bu actually take inspiration from the monkey king, and the red feathers have become a defining feature for a lot of beings in chinese history and mythology.
I'm so glad that this is not soulslike. I'm really not a fan of soulslike games. Absolutely love the Monkey King so I'm so hyped for this game. Pre-ordered and ready to go on the 20th August. I heard that the devs are aiming to do a Black Myth trilogy, not necessarily Wukong for all three but who knows? Can't wait for the game!!
@@Huda88754 you must have a serious issue when someone you've never met does something that will never impact your life in the slightest bothers you. Book a therapist
sounds more like sekiro, stuck with a single weapon which in this case is the Ruyi Jingu Bang, but then the further you get in the game the more skills you unlock
@christonchev9762 No, it isn't. It's a Fromsoft Game, but it's not really a Souls game, and Wukong is far more similar to Jedi/Sekiro than the Souls formula, including the skill points instead of "Spending souls" system. (Ironically, it does have a stamina bar, unlike those two games)
Why were people comparing this to souls to begin with? Even in the trailers before actual gameplay you could tell it would be a GOW/Asuras Wrath type of game. Literally when I seen the first trailer it reminded be of Asuras Wrath soo much.
I'm actually quite happy this is not another Soulslike. Don't get me wrong, I love that genre of games, but it's kinda refreshing to see this game is closer to games like Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden Black or God of War
@@V0RTAThe first Mario on the NES didn’t have any difficulty settings, I guess that’s a Soulslike too. Ocarina of Time had bonfire-like saving and you fight bosses as well, Soulslike.
@@thegodofsoapkekcario1970This remembers me to Horizon Zero Dawn, which has bonfire system and bosses as well. Nonetheless, it can't be called a "soulslike" just for them.
ik ik ppl like to hate on open world games but i hope game science makes a shit ton of profit from this game and make a sequel thats even bigger in scope possibly open world
@@HahahMamaman The devs themselves have heavily emphasized that it isn't a soulslike. While it does draw some inspiration, they themselves have also stated that it's going to be easier, which was said at the WeGame conference in May.
The fact that everyone compares any and all action games to a Soulslike when first seeing it makes me think nobody ever played any action game till the 2010s. Its like they haven't been around for 30 years or something.
A lot of Soulslike fans are kids who haven't played anything else. They're like the new Bethesda fans in that aspect. Hell, many of them were only introduced to FS games with Dark Souls 3 or Elden Ring. So they haven't even played Dark Souls 1 or Demon's Souls and still think Dark Souls 3/Elden Ring are something new for the company even though, like Bethesda, From Software has been recreating the same game now for years with the same old engine, same enemy AI scripts, same animations and the exact same combat complete with the same reused animations from Dark Souls 1.
Facts like sheesh "soulslike" isn't the only blue print games go off of I hate every game that comes out the word "soulslike" gets thrown around every other sentence
Developers: it’s not a souls-like Literally everything we have seen so far and everything this man is saying about the game: Definition of a souls-like
@@kenny2553 Then you’re just not good at these games. If you really watch this gameplay and don’t see souls combat then I’m going to assume you’re either an underdeveloped child or braindead
I've been eagerly waiting for this game since i saw it's first trailer years ago. It's not only the gameplay that matters to me, but also the way it looks. Can imagine putting down the controller to look around and just marvel about the world they have created for this game.
@@Chancethestylisthe didn’t say he doesn’t like a challenge. Just because someone doesn’t like souls like doesn’t mean they hate challenges lol. God of war is a more methodical fighting game than souls like. I hate the combat in all souls like games other than sekiro so this will be refreshing if it’s anything like god of war.
@@Chancethestylist souls game aren’t a challenge, those games are made for sweaty asses and masochists without any life, for people who can spend around 5 hours a day to play one video game to be able to “gEt gUd”🤷🏼♂️ I wasted my time on Sekiro, bought that game because of art and story, but I wasn’t enjoying it, when I completed the game I was sitting there like “so ok, what’s so amazing about souls like games?” What’s so good about a game where your enemy has a homing attacks? Where for some reason during launch attack the enemy can change its trajectory mid air because I dodged 0.3 seconds too early… souls like games aren’t a challenge, a challenge in video game should be enjoyable, it should not be frustrating to the point where masochists only can enjoy it
Sounds like it operates a lot like stellar blade, which i LOVE. Has some soulslike elements & inspo but still strives to have its own identity. We need more of that.
I really wish souls would stop bleeding into every game. I was pretty excited when this was first announced years ago because I'm a big fan of Wukong. The more I see of the game the less excited I get. Imma still play it but damn man we already have souls and 100 souls clones we don't need anymore.
@@Mr.Dee1117 Ah yes the absolute brainrot comment of "get good" anytime someone says anything that resembles a negative comment on a soulslike. Also proving the brainrot as this is supposed to be an easier game so what part of it will be a "skill issue"?
Not everything has to be souls like. I've been waiting for this since covid, some of the absolute coolest character design and world building i've ever seen in a game and I can't wait
I am glad you mentioned Nioh because I think this is more akin to Nioh than other so called souls like games, even the shrines looks similar. The graphic is certainly nice but its combat system is not as sophisticated as Nioh 2, only one single weapon type and seems like focusing on boss run design, I will wait for reviews and won't pre-order it but I hope it turns out to be better than what I've seen so far, I really don't mind more quality games from new Chinese and Korean companies.
My one complaint is why does it look like most enemys (not all) have hyper armor. I dont like attacking something and it doesnt even flinch it makes me feel like im swinging a wet noodle as a weapon. Games like stellar blade address this issue and make even the most gigantic bosses stagger from light attacks. No ones wants to fight a wall that swings back
Whys this guy acting like he knows everything about the game? They've literally only leaked a small portion and this dude is pretending like that small leak is the entire game... I hate content creators who just wanna be 1st and have the scoop, even if they don't know wtf they're talking about..
The game does actually look pretty amazing. I'd been following it for awhile, but was afraid it was a little too Souls-like. I'm happy to hear it's more Jedi-like cause those were amazing titles that had a great map system that didn't feel too overwhelming.
Lil bro hasn't even touched the game and is already dropping absolute brain rot takes. We know who needs their hand held when playing games now at least.
Well that's a bunch of money saved. I can't stand devs that insist on not including difficulty options in games. It flies in the face of making games more accessible to a wider range of players that have different skills and possibily disabilities.
I'd been praying for a wu kong monkey king game ever since i watched quest for the sutra with Dicky Cheung as wu kong back in 2003 and now the game is finally here one month to go
i am glad that black myth wukong is not trying to be a souls like. i hate when devs make a game and try to copy something and what they copy is bad. i love souls like games and find them kinda easy and boring because combat is always pretty straight forward, exept sekiro that games combat is peak because of the parry system. and this game seems to have alot of variarity
“Black Myth” might be a darker version of the story “Journey to the West.” In the original tale, the protagonist attains enlightenment, which concludes the story. However, “Black Myth” could reinterpret this by ending with a cliffhanger instead of an epilogue. This difference highlights the distinction between literature and video games, where the latter often employs cliffhangers to keep the audience engaged.
"... and you quickly begin to vompare it to the souls-like genre." No. No, I did not. Not even a little bit. I saw the same trailers everyone else saw and for the life of me, I could not understand why you guys kept referring to this game as a souls-like. When it is *very obviously* nothing like a souls-like game. The combat *alone* was a very clear indicator that this game is not a souls-like. Gesus-Fucking-Khrist... 🤦🏾♂️
After the last couple of day I'm ganna wait a bit before I buy this because 90% of these games are not ready at launch and all these youtubers simp for gaming companies and hide all the problems they have with the games till a week or 2 after the official release
I mean to be fair when all of us souls fans saw this game. That's what we thought of. But if he compared assassin, Creed shadows to soul, then I would get this comment.
I like hard bosses because it let you appreciate the boss, its design, the lore, the animations, everything, if a boss is too easy you forget about it quickly, that's if it lasts enough for you to notice anything about it
Just because Sun's character growth and arc was finished in Journey to The West doesn't mean he can't go through more and face more struggles. That's completely normal for characters after their initial story arc
Honestly, I don’t care if it’s soul like or not. I’m more excited about the story and playing as wukong even if it’s the imposter( six ear monkey) or just a clone of wukong the monkey king!! Black myth: wukong is its own game and deserves every respect there is! Seriously go watch the journey to the west series ( the old ones ,not the newer ones because it’s disappointing especially the American version 😂), read the book, watch all the movies of wukong! He is seriously awesome! By far my favorite childhood character! For anyone that is dragon ball fans, Goku was based off of Wukong, just saying
