They used the 1986 TV series theme song, but modernizing it perfectly. The series is considered a classic in mainland China. I’m glad they paid respect to it❤
Sun Wukong's weapon is called the Ruyi Golden Hoop Stick, but it also has a name called the Stick for Controlling the Sea, because it can become larger or smaller, longer or shorter according to the owner's ideas. Therefore, in mythology, it is used to control floods and measure water levels. In Chinese culture, there are five elements, namely gold, wood, water, fire, and earth. The five facial features of a person correspond to these five elements, and the ear is water, so the golden cudgel is hidden in the ear
@@eodyn7 Brother, you need therapy, this is just a video game, it has nothing to do with the Communist Party. The original novel of this game was created hundreds of years ago, when there was no concept of communism.
1:06 the music was the theme of “journey to the west” tv drama in 1986. For many Chinese , it’s as iconic as like hearing the “power ranger” theme for the western audience lol.

@@Juanchomagro to us it's a bit more special than that. Since our childhood didn't have much films or series to watch. We (SEA countries) only exposed to Chinese media products with a little of dubbing and aired on Government controlled channels. For almost 10 years, these music were the only things we share with friends (in or out of the country). Now listen to that again, it's more than just nostalgia.
For those who hasn’t had a chance to watch the original Wukong, he always keeps his weapon inside his ear and his stick can turn big and small as much as he wants 😊
There has been a lot of gameplay shown for this game over the last like four years since it was announced, so it’s not like this is just some random cinematic and they’ve never shown gameplay Eric so you can always go and check that out.
Yeh, his staff can appear bigger and bigger as he want. Cause that staff is using for measure the sea level. He met the Sea Dragon king just to find some good stuff and then he met this staff, but its too big for him and he wished that maybe good for him if this staff smaller. As he wish the staff choose him to be master and it turn to smaller staff.
No, that's Hollywood's version of Sun Wukong; Chinese people don't recognize it. You should just watch the TV adaptations of "Journey to the West," whether it's the 1986 version or the 2011 one, both are pretty good.
@@phamduy1906 Same. The 1986 Journey to the West tv series from China is the one and only despite the number of versions that sprang up in the years after.
