Black Myth: Wukong - The First Hands-On Preview 

Chinese mythology always had an unsettling, macabre vibe, especially with all the bizarre creatures. Glad to see it finally getting represented with the right touch.

As far as actual mythology goes, Wukong does not use any other weapon. The staff used to be a totem for measuring the depth of the sea and can change it's size at will, it already is one of the most powerful weapons in any mythology.

That staff is already a 100 level weapon, known in the mythology as Ding Hai Shen Zhen (Stabilizer of the Seas), is pretty much as strong as you can get. There are a few other ones with strong buffs but in terms of attack the staff is prolly already maxed out. The other ones include the Jade Pristine Flask (absorbs enemies when they answer to calling) and the Plantain Fan

Look how careful they have been to not flood the fights with particle effects. Very very nice!

So far this game looks amazing. Hoping it lives up to the hype

In addition to the offline trial play held in Hangzhou, China on August 20, there will also be a trial play in Hall 6 of the Cologne Games Exhibition, and the time is August 23-27.

One of the interesting part too in this game is that, when you are died, you are really "died". It actually does not work like some other game which revert back the time or so called "load" back to the previous save point. Instead, you are died and become a little fur back to previous save point and resurrect. When you back to the boss that defeated you before, the boss will say "Why did you died and come back again just to suffer more" something like that. This is really detailed and interesting part of the game too.

This game looks incredible! The enemy designs, the visuals, and the movement have my mind blown!

For numbers of weapons, at least in the source material WuKong only uses the Jingu rod because other magic weapons don't meet his standards. But he can changed to characters that use different weapons in the game so that could also count.

In the myths, the staff can be expanded or shrunk to any size Wukong wanted. Would’ve been cool for it to be shrunk into a needle as a stabbing weapon.

Im very glad how there are taking care of this game teasing it here and there and not rushing the production

This games looks like playing Nioh game with a staff. 3 stances and 4 skills. Loved Nioh and looking forward for more of this.

Hands-on play event is going on right now in Hangzhou. Almost an hour in. Judging from the livestream there is definitely some difficulty to the bosses.
