Here's a walkthrough on how to take that Rectifier of yours and make it look bad as F*CK! Best of all COULD only cost about $6 USD...
This cost me about $62 USD all in as I bought new black knobs, however you COULD just spray them with the same stuff you black out the faceplate with. I ended up doing about 3 passes of the PlastiDip... but it got boring to watch so I edited it out. Just FYI...

So after watching this I decided to murder my 3 Channel Recto. I used a Rustoleum rubber spray and did the treadplate and the knobs. It cost me a grand total of $11 and a bit of effort and I am beyond happy with the results🤘

Thx man! I am going to do it in one of my rectifiers and if I like it perhaps do the others as well. I always wanted a black rectifier 2 channel but they are impossible to find in the be EU 😢

I’ve done my Roadking including knobs too. Works a great. I used the new Glossy version on the knobs. They came out great!

Man!!! Looks sooo good! I’m currently working on a trade to get a Triple Rec, if it works out I’m using this video as a resource! Definitely blacking it out! I’ll do the work before I even play it because I know it will automatically upgrade the tone 🤘🏼😂🤘🏼

Just FYI - I’ve had a few people that have done this and used the Plastidip on their knobs. Looks good. They’ll report back hopefully on whether or not it hold up. I’ll do it on my spare knobs as well and make a vid.

I have painted one of my 3 channel, it was with normal paint but I like the plastidip stuff, im going to do my other 3 and 2 channel heads. You mentioned its easily reversable? Can you explain how please? Great video, I need the black knobs 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Yeah you can pretty much peel it off with not too much effort if you decide you don’t like it.

Can you not just remove the diamond plate off the chassis? I think I might try this with spraying it Red, more blood evil

You can but you need a good heat gun and scraper, and a good bit of desire. Most people I know that have tried the heat gun method said it was a pain in the butt.

It's WAY easier to do this. I know a few guys that have removed the tread-late, but apparently the glue Mesa uses could lift an elephant off the ground! More trouble than it's worth.

@@selmics Awesome! Please report back here if it works well on the knobs. You should easily be able to use an Exacto to clean out the screw hole and the bronze indicator on the knob too. Good luck!

So once the appropriate screws are out then grab the transformers to pull out the chasis? Just double checking. I have done mods on a Jet City amp before but every amp is different.

Just saw this. Also bought a can of PlastiDip to «fix» my recto. It’s a chrome rev f with WRONG headshell… what sick fuck does a swap like that? Anyway. Got a small logo to make it look even more old school. Nice vid 👌🏻
