Every time I hear this, I see a Porsche 964 Turbo being converted to a semi-tube frame, full carbon fiber body, a 993 Twin Turbo engine swap boosted to 700hp. Then I think of how insanely expensive it would be circa 2000, and what's going through the owner's mind as they watch it happen...
@@Uberdude6666 At least for some time. The car faster better than pretty much any car available for consumers in terms of sustaining such a high speed for maybe 10 minutes without overheating. After a while that person abandoned racing and just left his car in museum. That's for Porsche. Not sure what happened to the owner of Z, but it's no longer on Wangan.
@@MJ-uk6lu I just read an article about it, says there were two cars. One that the actual owner actually owned, and then one that was made for a movie, that was even more powerfull. The owner found it too powerfull and retained his original car.
@@Uberdude6666 Not sure where you found your info and if we talk about same thing. I was talking about red 240Z of Mid Night club. It was 600 or 700 bhp monster with lots of aero modifications. Meanwhile in Wangan Midnight movie (modern one) they just used nearly stock blue 240Zs. At least 2 of them and for crash scene Mitsubishi Celeste was used. For after crash scenes 240Z from scrapyard was reused. In movie no one actually ran very fast, it was just smart planning, some effects and other movie making things. Maybe engine was swapped of 240Z as it's old car and original one would be worn out and I heard that those old engines now cost a lot, so much that it's almost better idea to start manufacturing one yourself. Maybe engine was tuned a bit for show off scenes to not look weird, but really not a lot. I read that in movie making they only achieved like 200 kmh on public roads. Which isn't a lot.
That's how you face problems like this - head-on! I got in an accident with my Viper on the Autobahn ... welcome carbon hood, forged rims and motorsports radiator :-)
