Also symptoms of early stage colon cancer are so vague and minimal most young ppl won't think to go to a doctor...episodic abdominal pain, gas, occasional constipation or diarrhea...most ppl would think it's from eating something bad, stress, etc so they'll take tums, pepto, imodium...by the time serious symptoms start which lead to a doctor visit, such as unexplained weight loss and bleeding from the rectum, the cancer is already at later stages and treatment likely either won't be effective at all or will only prolong life for a few years...nobody knows anything about his battle since he kept it private so no one can assume anything

Guys, guys! I'm just trying to understand how he didn't realise he had this disease. That's all ! I'm devastated he's gone and angry at the same time because he was so young and for anyone to die that young again is really unfair to the "victim", to the family, friends etc.

@@emily-clark lots of people walk around with diseases unbeknownst to them...some diseases don't show symptoms until late stages...there would be no need to scan or check his colon at that young age without those symptoms...I'm just trying to highlight how and why ppl are often diagnosed at late stages of diseases

And, Applepie6, if you were paying attention and know about great black historical figures and ideologies, there was an undertone of Malcolm X vs Martin. It was the militant vs the pacifist, hence Michael B. Jordan's character saying his people were the ones jumping off of the slave ship. It's about those willing to die for the cause of their people suffering and those willing to live for it or who may not see things that way. Finally, there was some content addressing the fact that there is often division between Africans and African descendants. It addresses, subtlely, the beef between amongst the African diaspora, with Jordan's character's perspective, much like Malcolm X's perspective, being we should unite and protect each other. There are too many of us for us to be powerless. Why do you let us suffer over here with all of the power and resources that you have to make a difference. There's more but I've written too much already. Again, you'd notice all of this, if you have an interest in black historical figures.
