What do you think of Black Panther?

I just played with black panther this week. He’s one of my favorites from the core set though maybe not as consistent. It feels so good to play wakanda forever once you get most of your upgrades out. Very unique.

I really enjoy black panther in leadership. He's so rich he can play a lot of different ways.

I have tried to love this character so many times. But I either don’t have the suit built or don’t have wakanda forever drawn every time it seems like.

He's a solid hero and definitely not bad, but ultimately he has been power crept pretty bad, with a lot of other set up heroes with far more explosive endgames. His kit is more supportive in nature, rather than leading like Ironman/Ironheart, relying on the Aspect to do the heavy lifting. Wakanda Forever is one of the most efficient cards in game, but it still only does so much. That's why Leadership and Aggression are my favorites. Justice is too passive for me, tho will always be strong in solo. Protection, I want to like due to retaliate, but Perfect Defense is too inconsistent for me on expert (Desperate Defense has only ~ 60 chance of success with 2 base def vs 3 atk villain), meaning you have a slow set up based aspect that is even slower combined with a set up based hero kit, and prot is honestly too cheap that you end up wasting his vibranium once his upgrades are down. Defense Event prot is getting a big buff soon with Judoka skill, but it is still too cheap imo. Honestly, my favorite Prot deck with him is Big Money Prot deck, running the strong 4 cost allies, and the 3 cost card that gives out tough.

When the game first came out, Black Panther quickly became my favorite to play. I’ve played a ton of games with him, especially in those first several months. I think I’ll always have a soft spot for him because of that. Wakanda Forever is so fun and flexible.

The aggression mean swing build was talked about a lot by Kennedy Hawk, I think. My fave aspect overall is Justice, yet it's the only aspect I haven't played BP in! I guess I know what I'm doing later! Although confuse lock builds are not as strong without access to Think Fast. Just an FYI, not sure if I heard you correctly, so sorry if this is what you said, but you cannot use Ancestral Knowledge to shuffle multiple Wakanda Forevers back into your deck

I started right after Sinister Motives was released, and we got every product very quickly after our first couple of games from the core, so I had probably only played him twice prior to recently. Didn't really care for him, but I had a huge pool of heroes and cards starting off that certainly seemed to eclipse him. Going through and playing all the MCSL matchups and I've played him a few more times there. He was significantly more fun than I remembered. Not sure if it was a larger card pool or if I'd just gotten better at the game. Still not at my top, but I'll definitely take Panther for a spin again. Had the same experience with Iron Man actually, too. Said I'd probably never pick him up again and had a great time with him in MCSL.

Would Black Panther pair badly with another hero that also takes a while to get going (like Iron Man for example)?

Something of a one trick panther really. Build suit, play Wakanda Forever, repeat.
