Owner is a great representation of how a business owner should carry ones self. Professional, personable, super serious about his business and community focused.
@@Tommybotham no I didn't cause he not the actually owner😂😂 I live around there to know exactly what lies they are telling and my niece used to work there
Keeping it real. Latryguy,Peeks100, and Mr.Chimetime are the only three channels I'm watching that covers just about the country. I see you, King, keep shining and thriving.
@@MichaelSmith-Moving there's tons of good black food reviewers you just happened to name one of the worst. You must enjoy Peaks horrible lisp and opinions on food.
@@Asuma492 He only eats junk food !? 😕😐 BOY he been reviewing actual real food that is not fast food... the hell is you talkin about? He was at his family house reviewing his family cookout food and some other places that serves real food that isn't part of his family! 😭😂 You're a hater and it shows. Peaks always gonna keep it a buck no matter what 💯 You probably hate him because he's honest about any food he reviews and it's not junk food most of the time lmao.
Didn't know that Thai food only needs to be made by thai/asian people. We dont know anyone's history and/ or cultural experiences. Looks legit, simple, and filling. Love thai food
@TheOfficial63 it's not that...when we venture out to make other cuisines we enjoy, we're treated like unicorns! While any and everybody gets a pass to make "soul food"...
@@misstee937that's a dam lie and you know it... no one else makes soul food and puts their stamp on it... y'all are so sensitive over stuff like this but when you do it then it's a different story lol uplifting and diverse but someone else does it it's cultural appropriation...
LA Try Guy got the style and personality that mesh with everyone. His outlook on his work when hes reviewing makes you want to try what hes havin. Im a big LA Try Guy fan for sure.
Yoooo this owner here is serious with his craft. He is not playing and you can tell he has expectations. Customer service is key.. If I walk in a spot and I'm not recognized or any customer is not recognized in 30 seconds, it's a problem. The decor is nice and the employees are friendly and alert.. Clean, friendly environment with hot, fresh food equals 💰💰💰.. Not to mention great mystery shops, Pass on inspections etc . Great video.. Hats off to this establishment..
Looks amazing, and im living in Bangkok atm and had some really great Thai-food. The guy in the video is such a humble guy who talks with a lot of passion! Lemme know when you accidently take the wrong plane, end up in Bangkok and in need of some great places to eat. Its foodheaven here.
I'm Asian American and trust Black Americans to make good Thai food - just because they are experts at seasoning, cooking fried chicken, balancing flavors etc. Lots of the food that they invented is also popular in Thailand so I would like to try this place out.
I need to patron this restaurant, I prefer Thai rice over Chinese and it looks authentic. I just need mine with a side of lime. I might even dine in instead of trying to get it delivered or to go, the esthetics give a good vibe.I also like how the bartender was able to explain the MRT when the investor wasn’t.
“ You come in here and embarrass me in front of my wife…my kid out there”(Chris Tucker)”Naw you embarrassing yoself you a black man with a Chinese restaurant “😂😂😂
@hoodietiger2178 exactly, if the roles were reversed they would be upset. I remember there was a video of a black girl upset over an Asian spot using the word "trap house" or something of that nature lol.
@@Asuma492 yep. What’s annoying is I don’t even care if a black person wants to open a Thai restaurant. What I can’t stand is the hypocrisy and racial bias from many (not all but many) members of the black community.
@@hoodietiger2178 I rememeber now it was a Boba shop selling "trap tea" and it was called the Boba plug lol. She was upset and said it was black culture appropriation like trappin is something to be proud of lol.
72yrs. Houston, Texas Its good to see a black owner for that type of food! I love lamb chops! The food is certified and everything looks delicious and it’s good! Loving it! And he’s a young man with business sense. Praying much success for his business. He knows he has good foods! Those are good prices! You can’t beat that! 50 out of 10! Lets support this restaurant for sure!
@@user-oh3ok8cz5y it’s the truth. Let a white man open a Thai restaurant and let’s see how fast you claim “cultural appropriation.” You can lie to yourself but you can’t lie to me. You’re racially biased and it’s almost laughable
on god bro. This place looks like the leftovers from a chinese buffet. He pulled out lamb chops like he walked in to the wrong restaurant. Might as well serve pizza too!! He doesn’t even know what a drunken noodle is but he will plow the bartender ahhaa
I'm Black and I like making Korean food. I visited this place when they first opened and love the soup and the tea. BTW~ They also don't have any Korean food in the Windsor/Baldwin Hills area. Yees' has now been replaced by the piazza/Italian restaurant that's also good.
@@jdo9676 I didn’t either honestly.. this was a while back.. everybody seemed to be scrambling, preoccupied & hella dry.. the vibe wasn’t warm at all.. I was surprised they weren’t more pleasant and customer service oriented, I mean not even a smile from any of the staff.. but I just chalked it up to maybe them having just opened and still working out the kinks.. if that’s still the vibe then that’s unfortunate 😕
@@jdo9676 I’m a firm believer in customer service.. if that customer service not hittin, idc if they black, white or purple, I will not be back lol.. but part of me still likes to highlight certain popular local businesses, hoping for others to have a different experience 🙃
Drunken noodles is called pad kee mao, and it got that name for the drunk ppl that cane to eat when intoxicated to sober them up. It's similar to pad see ew but spicier, they thought the spice would help sober them, i love the effort but wish they tried more to learn the thai culture
Here is my honest review of this place. I came through on Monday 7/1 after seeing this video. Let's see, came in around 3pm. Only a handful of people inside so I was seated right away. I was offered water immediately. Both servers were pleasant and cordial. I ordered Tom Yum Seafood, Drunken noodles, Pineapple fried rice with chicken and Papaya salad. Papaya salad was good but was missing the small salted shrimp that are typically in the salad. Drunken noodles were good and was the best dish I ordered. Fried rice was in a to go box and the box which is usually overflowing at Asian restaurants, was only 2/3 full. Tom Yum was salty, either the cook added too much fish sauce or Nam Prik Pao. My guess is Nam Prik Pao since the soup wasn't overly fishy. Overall 3.5 out of 5 for me. I will be adding this same review on Google Maps and Yelp if anyone wants to see some pictures.
I wish to go overseas but I'm here in South Africa I want to visit USA for the Food,Entarment, girls and more Thank you LATRYGUY for doing thus videos so when the times come people that haven't been to USA when they go they'll know what to try ❤❤❤
The owner looks like Billy Eckstine or. Arthur Prysock. Great singers. You have to be over 60 to know who I'm talking about. I follow Latryguy and enjoy his videos .🎉
I've been to this spot and it's hyped up. It's mostly about the "vibes" and "aesthetics". There's too many good authentic Thai spots around the L.A area there is no point eating a watered down version of this.

Across the US, so many Thai restaurant's are very similar, same design, same menu, same almost everything, and there is a reason for that. The Thai government owns so many and each one is operated almost exactly the same.
I’m going to have to try this food because as of yet, I haven’t found a restaurant with better rice, egg rolls, sweet & sour chicken, or chow mein than Yee’s! The reason for the bullet proof glass is because they had a stream of robberies and if that happens to Gitti, I’m sure they would take measures to protect their business and themselves as well.
Thanks that's a must eat if you're a foodie because of the quality. I like that you showed the restaurant while it was put together maybe you could do more of this. What about a series where you eat at black owned businesses it ties into the whole hood spot theme and you like meeting other black people.
