It’s a horrible cycle. Plastic has always known to be toxic at all levels. We produce and consume more than can be reasonably burned so recycled plastic became another option. Hmmm, not so sure... 😬You might want to research silicone limitations. General max temp for silicone cookware and bakeware is 428 degrees - check individual manufacturer specs. Also, silicone isn't safe for dishwasher high heat drying. I have some silicone ice cube trays - i.e. for large square cubes, still not recommended for dishwasher, and may pick up an off scent/odor if food/beverage is kept in tray for a while.

We, as consumers just blindly accept products sold to us. Trust in corporate products, marketing and regulatory agencies (that are overwhelmed by the number of new products and underfunded to handle the onslaught) is just given. Consumers are exhausted by corporate gaslighting. Thank you CBS for reporting on this AND for giving advice on how to avoid the chemicals/leeching. I’d add that wood utensils are also a safer alternative along with stainless steel. However - do not use stainless steel or any hard utensil on non-stick cookware. You’ll be eating those chemicals used in “non-stick.” Like he said, stainless steel & cast iron is the way. Learn how to make stainless steel non-stick. It’s easy! And right here on RU-vid.
