In 2015 Wildlands Restoration Volunteers worked on Black Powder Pass, near Breckenridge, which has stunning panoramic views.
However this trail had become eroded due to the unsustainable grade, with much of the sedimentation going directly into the riparian area. At times, the trail is difficult to follow because of the proliferation of social trails and muddy sections.
WRV volunteers realigned a section of trail to address social trail braiding and branching that trample wetland habitat.
This video is from one year after the project and highlights one section that is already starting to see the positive effects of our restoration efforts. Thank you volunteers!
