You took the words right out of my mouth. His falsetto reminds me a little of Curtis Mayfield. He also reminds me of someone else from that period, but I can't pinpoint it right now. Despite that, he still has an original recognizable sound. This group is like a cool glass of water in the desert!

Well, why should we have to look "hard enough" for good music? Used to be...one could turn on the radio & hear a gem of a tune on a random station any hour of the day.

@right left It's not even about integrity; who can truly measure what manner of dishonesty is involved in the making of music we deem 'good'? For me, it's sheer quality that counts--in terms of the writing, playing of (real) instruments (rare to non-existent now) & singing ability. The vast bulk of what now passes for 'music' is absolute garbage; I experience it as noise pollution, a nerve-shredding assault on my ears & spirit, especially in retail stores, like Walmart--disgusting. Hence, the reason I've been, as I like to say, 'station-less' since 2006; nothing but crap on every radio station...so I defaulted to Classical 96.3FM (here in Toronto) & haven't looked back! Now, when I listen to Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi, & too many others to list, my God, the difference in level of talent, of complexity, beauty....it's astounding! But see, these so-called 'artists' today & their greedy record companies have NO influence that we, as a collective, do not confer to them. Just stop buying their shit, stop listening, stop clicking on the videos of these vapid auto-tuned puppets....then see which way the tide shall (soon) turn. Demand better because we deserve better. But most peeps under 30 have likely never been exposed to the classics (unless by accident here on you tube) so what do they know? But there are many millennials (on videos of 70s/80s) music who lament having been born into the 'wrong' generation, so they CAN discern quality when they hear it (past or current), & appreciate it. I really enjoy this song 'Colors'. Notice it makes no direct reference to race in the lyrics so it's open to interpretation. Another song that gives me the same feel-good vibe is 'Believe in Love' by Maxi Priest. Please listen to it; gets no air play & that's a crime!

I was roaming to the kitchen routinely setting to do the morning wake up preparedness drill...and I heard JUST A PIECE of this song ..I stopped in my tracks, I have been feeling defeated lately, an obstacle flung into my path..emergency surgery im not sure ill survive it..my kids and two grandkids ..in my head swirling thoughts...but...I just HAD to stop thinking i was like WAIT ..WHAT IS THAT.i started snapping my fingers and swaying and dancing..then..it stopped it was just a piece of the song ..featured on the beginning episode of a TV show..I called my daughter started singing it to her...and she sent me the you tube...the WHOLE song ! Omg I focused on feeling great!
