This song tells a story about a man that had the ability to time-travel. He travels to the future and sees a robot invasion. He returns back to the present, but is turned to steel in a magnetic field. He tries to warn the people in the city but they don’t believe him. He becomes furious and slaughters all the people he tried to warn. He didn’t realize that the robot that was causing the mass extinction was him all along until it was to late.
Fun fact to those who didn't know. During the creation of this song Black Sabbath actually had no idea there was a comic book character named Iron Man.
@Mr.PotatoL Actually, Iron Man #1 was released in 1968. The character's first appearance was Tales Of Suspense #39, which was in 1963. The song released in 1970.
We used to have way better music in the 70s, Frank Zappa, Pink Floyd, too many to list. And if you really understand what they are singing about, that blows your mind even more then the music.
@@VeggiePower303 yeah the 70s had some pretty good music. Today’s music with the rock and metal genre isn’t entirely broken though. There are some pretty good modern rock/metal bands around today, for example: Avenged Sevenfold, Mudvayne, Linkin Park, KoЯn, Messugah, Disturbed,System Of A Down, Pantera, Cannibal Corpse, Hell, Spineshank, In Flames, Dethklok, Slipknot, Municipal Waste, Exhorder, Trivium, etc, Today’s music isn’t that bad, you just gotta know where to look.

Tberríos 2412 i am simply tired of the comments being filled with oh i searched for mcu iron man and found this. It would be nicer if the comments were filled with much intellectual talks than mcu iron man.
@@hamzadounel3840 Oh, i get it, but also dont blame them, those guys are just having a good time, but i get your point, sometimes happens when things got popular. Have a good day bro
This song tells a really dark story: a man made of iron who comes from the future to save humanity, but they don't give a shit about him so he now wants to get revenge on the very same people he tried to save.
@@toktikpogi Iron man movie - A rich weapon maker gets kidnapped seeing the errors in his way becomes a hero to save the people he once killed Iron man Black Sabbath- A man who traveled to the future turns to steel trys to warn the people of the upcoming future kills the people he once saved The only similarity is the name however I see how this could be an alternate universe Iron man
This band is from my area formed in 1968 created what we now know as Heavy Metal. I can relate to their music as its a hard working class sound. The factories and foundries in the area i grew up around sounded like this... Black Sabbath.. forever 🎶❤🎶
Tony Iommi's guitar matched so well with Bill Ward's frantic drumming in Ironman. In the end I think Bill Ward deserves the most respect for this song. The lyrics are so basic but Sabbath was years ahead with their instrumental play and rhythm construction. Some times I feel like I was born to late ☺
I wasn't born too late, but I wish I had gone to way more concerts. But in those days we thought this is normal and thought will only get better from here. But it's got way worse, with Hyp-Hop and Rap.
When I listen to this song, I personally think about a war veteran with some kind of metal prosthesis ("Iron Man"), abandoned by the society he helped save on account of his disability. In the end of the song, his revenge is something like opening fire on civilians in a square.
@@shawnparkspost Maybe he was talking about the advanced technology he came across during the war that made him feel like he was in a different reality. Anyway, it's just a personal interpretation. I have no pretense to say that this is what the song is about.
This song is about a man who travels into the future. The end was near. He went into the past to warn everyone and nobody believed him. The time traveler got angry and killed them all as revenge.
The time traveller saw a robot invasion. When he travelled back to warn everybody he went through a magnetic field thwt turned him in the robot he saw in the future.
0:35, I had that damned part stuck in my head forever last week, and could not remember where the hell it came from. I finally heard it on the radio and found it here, too. Thanks for the upload/share, rock on! 🤘🖖
It's not instilling the fear. It is showing you that you have fear underneath the surface consciousness. You must face that fear and transform it to an art of your own.!!! This is how you use courage to grow as a Soul. Always face fear head on......!!!
The fear is always the fear of your own power that you have not discovered yet. The fear to be, all that you can be....... An Infinite Eternal Creator Being.
Although the writer of this song did very specifically explain what the lyrics meant, the great thing about art, is that it can totally take on a personal meaning as well. Which is what makes GREAT music (art)
A future warrior who got thrown through time was turned into an Iron man due to his armor fusing with his skin due to the sheer metalic force of his travel. He was thrown in by an enemy who he killed before he was taken by the field. When he tries to warn the world they lock him away, and he goes mad because of the impending doom. The weaponry combines with his body and he becomes unstoppable. The final 50 seconds is him about to destroy the last bastions of humanity, who play their last song as a reminder to remember their mistakes. But, like a knight in shining Armour, a Warrior arrives to battle the Iron Man, The warrior being himself. He tries to reason with his past self as he realizes he caused all the pain and devastation from his, and this world. As they clash with their weapons, he is slowly disintegrated by the sheer heat and force of his own weaponry, and he uses a metallic field to try and stop his impending doom, but opens a rift through time. The last thing the Iron man sees the Warrior, turning into an Iron man.
ive always listened to rap, whether with my dad or by myself, but my dad did introduce me to rock culture and ozzy and black sabbath will have a place in my heart forever.
9 billion miles high, heavier then a super massive black hole. I gladly give my soul to Sabbath, and all things heavy. Power beyond Human understanding, they are the closest thing to a superior Being. Dread and woe shall smother us all.
Rip Nate (the 60 days in GOAT) Burrell AKA IRONMAN... Thanks for everything b you sacerficed for your brothers and sisters while you were down here on this earth. The ones worth knowing know you were innocent and will pray for your soul. Feel sorry for his sons mom when his son grows up. Let's all pray for that Lil dude. God Bless you all
@@kevinrocha4879 it’s more rock when you compare it to modern metal, it’s not as heavy when you compare it to something like Avenged Sevenfold: Second Heartbeat or Desecrate Through Reverence
It'll take me awhile to list all the specific ones, but I *SWEAR,* you could use certain lyrics here to describe Darth Vader and hardly notice any change!!
This song was very important for me when I was victim of moral harassment at work… I protected someone victim of that and by doing this I became the new target to isolate and destroy… during this period all people I protected turned their back. I was listening this song again and again… it gave me the strengh to use my anger to prepare my revenge and finally my boss was kicked out from the enterprise because I was turned to steel 😮… and i’m preparing my revenge against human ressources people that covered this manager…
I like how this song wasn't intended to be about the Marvel character, but Black Sabbath, Marvel itself, and fans of this song sorta just embraced it lol
No. It's about a time traveler who travels to the past to tell everyone the world ending. But no one believes him and he gets revenge on the people that didn't listen. But he soon realized that it was because him who destroyed the world
