@@mvm1611 the first 3-4 albums all have the same sound and style, Black Sabbath is categorized as Heavy Metal/Hard Rock, but many bands copy their style, but labeled as Doom Metal, most if not all of their songs sound like this
Saint Vitus, Candlemass, Pentagram, Trouble, Solitude Aeturnus, Count Raven, Cathedral, Crypt Sermon, Spirit Adrift, Reverend Bizarre, Witchfinder General, Iron Void, Procession, Lord Vicar, etc. these are all fine answers for doomers as well. God I love doom metal.
**Two minutes until midnight** HAHAHAHAHHSAAAAHAH GET IT?!!!?!? IT'S BECAUSE IT'S THE NAME OF AN IRON MAIDEN SONG AREN'T I FUNNY AND SMART AAHHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHA
this is the best thing i've ever heard. Geezer Butler's bass is forming a glooming aura around my soul and ozzy's voice is transforming my body to a place far away from this wicked world
@@jonathantromp7270 yeah, google it, he sings the same way in the beginning of Centre of Eternity. Ozzy is actually a very capable vocalist with a wide range
@@TheTurtleneck64 wait, Black-Sabbath is "doomer-metalhead"? Do you mean to tell me i was fucked since i was a teenager? because i've always listened to Black-Sabbath, Floyds, and Led-Zeppelin i've listened to Black-Sabbath (the first-album, self-titled one) like a hundred times and i've been listening to a lot of other bands and songs with that chill-psychedelic sound in general i'm not being a "hur-duurr i burn in wrung jaynayraytion" i mean it sincerely, i never really payed attention to the lyrics , i've been simply been into prog, blues, and metal for as long as i remember do you consider peoples listening to thoses genres/bands "stoner/doomer-metalheads"?
depressed since a child, betrayed by those i loved, forgotten by the one that once told me i was the love of her life, living all my life like a ghost, turn apart even by my close friends, this song always describe how i am feeling since a child
Black Sabbath were doomers before doomers. Not just because they invented doom metal (and metal in general) but because they were a reaction toward to out-of-touch optimism of flower power that working-class blokes from an industrial wasteland (Birmingham) couldn't relate to. Sound familiar?
I named my first dog Sabbath. I had him for 10 years before we had to put him down on the 6th, and ever since this song has been the first song I'll go to on my playlists. After seeing you've done an edit- and a good one, too- made me a little happy.
Can you do Floods by Pantera or at least an extended version of the outro that can be found on RU-vid quite easily next please? This was incredible, by the way. Thank you, did not anticipate this song as it's one of the less popular cuts in Sabbath's discography.
Dude, please make some of these: Black Hole Sun - Soundgarden Garden - Pearl Jam Rubber Ring - The Smiths Big Empty - Stone Temple Pilots Grace - Jeff Buckeley Shades Of Brown - Mike Pinto Long Gone Day - Mad Season En La Ciudad De La Furia - Soda Stereo
As a 20 year old traditional doomer and have been for the past 5 years, I became obsessed with Black Sabbath in Highschool and at one point did a presentation on this very song analyzing the lyrics. A true Doomer Classic along with literally any other Black Sabbath song such as War Pigs, Black Sabbath, paranoid. If you are willing to go deeper into the Doomer world I’d suggest listening to Sleep - Dopesmoker/Holy Mountain, Electric Wizard - Dopthrone and YOB - The Great Cessation, also while listening to these bands you’d better be having a brew or some grass or else you won’t enjoy it as much. Also if your looking for a particular hardcore doom metal sound, I’d suggest listening to High On Fire - Blessed Black Wings. That album has sent me to places in my mind uncharted, so be ready.
Why all the soft Sabbath songs? Black Sabbath, Electric Funeral, Hand of Doom, Children of the Grave, Lord of this World, Into the Void, Under the Sun/Every Day Comes and Goes, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, those are the doomer's anthems, and what Black Sabbath are known for, helping create heavy metal and doom metal.
Roshan Gupta yes Sabbath is my favorite band and all those songs definitely feed into the doomer mindset but I feel like the slower mellow tunes fit the doomer image better than the high energy songs
Do "doomer" version: Joy division - day of the lord's. Cathedral - reaching happiness, touching pain. Mad season - river of deceit. Candlemass - mourners lament. Nick drake - day is done. Type O negative - everything dies. The Alan parsons project - time.
id like to trow a few songs in the pot. Evoken - In Pestilence, Burning Death In June - Death Is The Martyr Of Beauty Neurosis - Locust star Rome - Das Feuerordal Sonic Youth - Tunic Chelsea Wolfe - Carrion Flowers TOOL - Sober David Lynch - Good Day Today
I know right, I feel this. Sabbath is my favourite classic heavy metal band, along with Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Motörhead. I just listened to the masters of reality album and it is such a masterpiece
It's funny how I discovered the doomer meme. I was depressed and wanting to be more depressed, so I remembered a friend that told me that doom metal was pretty sad. Searching for it I just typed "doomer" cuz i thought at the moment that was the actual name of the genre. Glad I didn't knew better and found this beautiful meme.
I have no regret telling the girl I love her. The biggest regret in my life is that I can never see Black Sabbath, Dio or Motorhead live. My only chance to see Ozzy in Tokyo last year was forever gone after Ozzy had multiple accidents.
