Here's footage from two days of bottom fishing in Western Long Island Sound in Connecticut waters. Saltwater temperatures are still high, and fish are staging up in deeper water, but can still be caught inshore nonetheless. Are you using a John Skinner jig rod, with an Accurast reel ?
