Fished Black Sea bass and scup in Falmouth, MA. We caught many sea basses but most of them were small. We got only one keeper (23"). Scups were also very active bites. We filled a big cooler with ~ 50 scups.
This is amazing. I first watched your videos about sheepshead sashimi and then I subscribed and found this video. Well, that is the same place I go out from and I use the same boat as you do, Gus!. I know that spot where you get sea bass and this year it has been good for both sea bass and scup. I also prepare both types of fish as sashimi - they are delicious. I find that it is necessary to age the scup fillets with paper towel in the fridge for a couple of days to make it tender. Actually, today, June 19, I am going out again on Gus to catch more seabass and scup. Maybe someday we can arrange for a boat and fish together.
Glad to hear that you caught sea bass and scup and enjoyed sashimi. Yes, I do aging then in a refrigerator sometimes. Yes, we could arrange fishing together sometimes. Thanks much for your watching my video and leaving nice comments 😊
Nice! Can you tell me the name of the sauce? I will be at H- Mart tomorrow. Yesterday I got 4 keeper sea bass and 3 scup. I fillet the fish and place it on paper towels for 1 day in the fridge and it is perfect sashimi the next day 😊
