Dres is undeniably the only individual guess who holds the truth sacred with an unbiased opinion that’s truthfully real & nurturing at the same time. We as a black race should recognize & understand how much power & influence we have when we pull our resources together. This is 1 episode I will willingly watch over & over because of all the substance that it contained. Salute to everybody that made this episode happen, because otherwise we wouldn’t have never known the true history of the many fill ins that Dres presented…💯🔥🔥🔥🥂🏆

Thats why I miss albums with one producer. Pete Rock, Premier, Dre, HItmen, Quik, Manny Fresh, Pharrell, etc. I like that distinct sound. When you get albums with 10 different producers, the album sounds all over the place.

Dres explained the DJ situation perfectly. These days the audience is mainly looking for what is popular, not necessarily for what is hot. The DJ use to break records and the audience appreciated it immediately. Now, if it wasn't already sanctioned as acceptable, it's not hot. The industry is over saturated with people that aren't really talented and who follow a formula.

DITC should have BEEN on Drink Champs. Lord Finesse, Diamond D, Showbiz, OC, Buckwild, AG all got so much hip hop history. Fat Joe need to make that happen

This brother Dres is a real dude. I'm from Chicago and I had an encounter with him and some of his crew in the mid 90's. Back then our city was heavy into the gang culture. I myself was heavily involved with the nonsense. Anyhow, me and my people were at a club that we considered ours. So, one of my people comes up to me and says, " We got trouble at the front." I instantly get into fight mode. So we make our way to the front. I see the club security trying to separate the two groups. I walk up and ask one of my guys," What happened?" My guy is like," They trying to disrespect. " I'm like, " What did they do?" My manz is like," They comin' in here with their hats swinging the wrong way. " ( In Chicago a person could literally get killed if the bib to their hat is turned in a certain direction)... Dres was with about seven or eight guys. A couple of them were Latinos and they were the ones who my guys had a problem with. What I remember most was, these cats stood their ground and it was about to get ugly. Dres was the reason of voice. So I tell my people to chill out and let me talk to Dres one on one. He says to me," We mean no disrespect. We're from New York and that hat shit doesn't mean anything where we're from." I'm like, " I feel you, but here, it identifies who your enemies are." He says," Aight, but it's the way your guys tried to push on us. Feel me?" And to be real, he had a point. So I tell my guys to chill. In return he tells his guys to straighten out their hats. His guys DID NOT want to straighten those baseball caps for shit!!! Lol. After a little while had passed we were all talking as if there was never a problem. I had mad respect for the way that the brother Dres handled the situation. I had to tell my people, " We're supposed to be about Love, Truth, Peace, Freedom, and Justice. We're not supposed to be on that unconscious bullshit. Straight up!!" It was supposed to be against our principles to gang up on anyone because they had less numbers. Nowadays, none of that matters. At the end of the day, there was no blood shed and in reality, there never should be.

This is one of THE BEST DRINK CHAMPS INTERVIEWS!!! And I've seen a lot of them. Dres is so DOPE and so BRILLIANT!! So many gems and so much history.

Dres was my favorite MC as a kid, always liked his flow, wittiness, and intellect on the mic. I love the stories he had, he came ready and happy to give up pieces of Hip Hop history, great interview. Dres is still dope on the mic too. Always be a fan. Legendary for real

How many of y’all caught @ 1:32:10. When Dres says to NORE “You obviously beloved him in JUICE”. Look @ NORE face. That’s why he paused and said “You don’t wanna go THERE”! It’s because after NORE saw that movie and went outside and shot his friend ok some Bishop shit. That’s how he got his charge that sent him upstate when he was young

I loved Dres interview!! Dres talked about HIS reality of Pac, another side of Pac!! He kept it 100 with still respecting Pac, people really think Pac was invincible!! He was young, he was brave, outspoken but still just a human, a man!! Dres was telling tons jewels of Hip Hop !! No one on Drink Champs has told this many Hip Hop detailed stories. That’s why we need Slick Rick, Dana Dane, Kangol Crew Vance Wright on Drink Champs !!!

Was on a Zoom call the other day, and my client (a white woman in her late 40’s/50’s) asked me, “is that the Black Sheep album on the shelf behind you?”. I was shocked to say the least!!

Dres was a bit loquacious, but his ability to be lucid and apply context to any subject in a justifiable manner is well worth it. Excellent story teller too, not to mention a witty and eloquent wordsmith.

2001 opened up for Black Sheep in Providence at Lupos. Dres was so cool when I meet him. He asked if I could get him trees. I made a call and my buddy came thru early and hooked Dres up. Dres asked for his address when my buddy gave the tree for free. Dres sent him a package with a cd and t shirt with a thank you letter. Much respect Dres! You the man!

don't think many individuals realize how multi-generational Krush Groove was period which was extremely phenomenal at the time because within our own culture you had someone like Harry Belafonte not only financially backing a film like this but directing it and at a time when many in our own ethnic diaspora were shunning and pushing away from the hip hop My mistake this was beat street that Harry Belafonte had a financial backing in and also assisted in directing

Let em finish. This man had a massive HIT Mind you, Ice Cube and the west coast ruled during that time. It's funny NY had to fall back as we know NY weren't very welcoming to other regions during the earlier days of hip-hop.

This should have been a solo Dres interview. Chi was treated like an unnecessary addition. Dres’ comments about 2Pac and Flex were raw. His Large Pro stories had a lot of lessons.
