Oh my gosh, this one made me shudder, but so interesting at the same time. You were very brave going up that spiral staircase… I got so into the story I was scared the bloody black dog would be hiding up there! I guess that should be a compliment of such a wonderful presentation, you had me on the edge of my seat. Thank you so much Sean. 😊
Thank you for the lovely comment jay. I have been fascinated by the legend of Black Shuck for many years so I really enjoyed making this video. Thanks for your concern however, the scariest thing in the church that day was me.😄
Hello Sean I hope you are ok . I am ok . The church inside looks amazing I have never seen it . Anyways I like this video especially it is called bungay it is very funny
i love the Bungay legend. Funny enough my neice has just been learning this at school for a project. As you say, lots of black shuck stories across the UK. I once visited Lyme hall in Cheshire. On a wall is a painting of the former lord of the hall in the 1800s. It was painted On his 102nd birthday. He's sat in the chair with a huge dog laying on the floor in front of him.bIt filled the whole floor. I asked what it was and the tour guide said, a former breed of dog used for deer hunting. They could actually bring a deer down. They died out, he said, this was because they were expensive to keep food wise so were finally no longer of use, as wealthy land owners found there wealth demised. Amazing painting though and always reminds me of Bungay. Lyme hall isn't far from Stockport. It's also still full of deer. Cheers Sean
Thank you Kelly. Well, if I had been taught about Black Shuck when I was at school then I probably would have turned up for classes more often. Wow, that's really interesting about the painting. I used to work in Stockport, I wish I had known about it back then. Thanks again Kelly.
Oh I knew i could come here on a stormy day like today & get just what I was looking for... Chilling to say the least! Throughly enjoyed that cuz! ;-) ♡☆♡
Nicely recorded for posterity. I knew a small guy called William when I was out that way, that’s right Bungay Low Bill - huzzah! 😂 Darkness song too, Lowestoft’s (and possibly The Earth’s) finest ever rock combo. Bocko! 👌👍
Thanks old pal. You will find recordings of my posterior in the outtakes. Yes, I think he is related to Bungy nose Wilkinson, 🚴♂👌Ok that didn't work but I think I got away with it. Yes Darkness, a bostin band.🤘👌
Great episode Sean , I was going to do the blyborough story before my hol was cancelled but had nothing like that much information gathered ! Well done mate ,enjoy your episodes so much 👏👏
Incredible Sean and thank you. I thoroughly enjoy you uploads especially around Lincoln and Louth. I've often wondered about Covenham. 2 Churches, Saint Bartholamew and Saint Mary are so close together. Literally a stones throw from each other. I often wondered why but then again Coven full of Witches and ham is short for hamlet.
Thank you so much. Well, it's funny you should mention Lincoln as I hope to make a vid about Lincoln castle sometime between now and Christmas. Interesting about the churches in Covenham, possibly one for a future video👍
Excellent as always! Fascinating! I've heard of the Black Shuk before. Welll done with those steps! rather you than me! Hope you are well, look forward to your next one xxx
Thank you Michelle, yes the steps were a bit claustrophobic but it was worth it to see the priests room. If it had a bed and a widescreen TV then I would still be there. Oh, just to say that I saw your friend request on Facebook. Sorry for not replying but I deleted my account a few years ago and now somehow it's back. I can't get rid of it so I just choose to ignore it. Anyway, thanks again Michelle, see you next time xxx
@@Seany63 No worries! I just came across your profile and was just saying hello! That's great! TV and bed up there you would be sorted! 😆 🤣 Yes I can imagine it was worth the climb. Unusual too. Anyway, really enjoyed it. Have a spooky 👻 🎃 xxx
Well Sean, I've been fascinated by your videos for a while now but haven't commented as yet. I live in North East Lincolnshire and just wanted to say well done for keeping these stories and legends alive and bringing them to public knowledge. What an fascinating part of the world we live in! :)
Thank you Victor, and thanks for reminding me about North East Lincs. There are lots of stories from Cleethorpes in particular that need to be documented, something I hope to do next spring.
I sometimes find folklore to unreal to believe but when you hear it backed up by clergymen and marks on doors you do have to wonder, add to that the fact it's survived so many years you really can draw conclusions. Another excellent video, as always thankyou for the entertainment.
I grew up in the North of Lincolnshire. I would love to hear about Fulstow and Dead Man's Hill. Whilst at college in Lincoln, the Arboretum off Monks Road was a favourite place to relax between lectures. What was on the site of the college before it was a college? Just some more ideas for you, maybe for next year. Happy Halloween. Keep warm.
Well, sadly I don't know of any stories connected to Fulstow but Dead Man`s Hill sounds ominous. The college was built on the site of a cattle market, I can`t remember when but there are photos of the old market online. Yes, a Happy Halloween to you also👻👻
Hi Sean yet again another amazing production and fantastic story noticed a few familiar sounds in this one from one of my all time favourite movie American werewolf in London. Thanks again Sean for all your hard work in bringing us this amazing amazing channel. Love from marschaple
Cheers Lee, yes its also one of my favorite movies. I first saw it at a cinema in London not far from Piccadilly Circus where they filmed the ending. It had only been a year since they had filmed there so everything still looked the same as in the movie, It felt very sureal. Thanks again for your kind words Lee, all the best.👍
Hello Sean wow another amazing video. I really enjoyed watching it. It must took or taken a long time to put the video together alot of work gone in to it. Well done. Hope ur OK. Xxx
