The bottom should be made of a mosquito net so the liquid won't accumulate. It's the accumulated liquid that kills everything and this engineer failed to mention it. I've done this before but as you said, everything here killed so I have to experiment. Now I have a room full of BSF and not doing the container breeding anymore. The container breeding must be done only if the bottom is made of a fine screen or steel-reinforced mosquito net. The liquid from decomposing organic materials and excreted by larvae is a premium fertilizer.

you dont need to buy it, let nature do it, try to throw some of your leftover/food scraps in you backyard and wait for few days to decompose and you will see this larvaes... keep in mind that black soldier larvaes are bigger than house fly larvaes.
