Here's the next tutorial video covering the Black Square Dukes, this one concentrates on the sounds.
The Turbine and Piston versions of the Duke will be released in early April and there will also be a bundle package available on release where you can save money when buying both together.
The Dukes promise to be the most advanced aircraft yet from Black Square, offering a myriad of amazing features that will truly set it apart from the majority of competing MSFS add-ons. The term Study-level is often misused but certainly not in this case. Full product specs and a selection of screenshots can be found at the product pages, links below. A quick update regarding the release date of the Dukes - Due to the delay of SU15 from Asobo/Microsoft we are also going to need to delay the release of the Dukes unfortunately. Best laid plans and all that. You can read more about the delay and the reasoning here: www.justflight.com/articles/black-square-dukes-development-update-april-2024 So our apologies, we hope to get things moving again just as soon as possible but as things stand we're reliant on news and a firm release date for SU15. Thanks for your patience.

I wish we had yearly awards for most impressive simulated aircraft. From what you guys have shown so far, this one definitely looks like it would win for 2024 (until someone else proves otherwise).

@@HenrikLassu-igenyteremtes lol it's not out yet, you don't know how it flies which is kind of the important part in a flight sim, and you already know it's the best ? Interesting. It might be, or it might not. Let's see how it actually flies because so far the flight model is by far the least advertised and talked about feature of BS planes. I hope this one will be different

@@davidtsw Fair point. I do believe that accurate flight models and charasterictics are a large part of what makes the digital recreations of these planes unique and fun to fly. But I also try not to forget that even as advanced and stunning looking MSFS is, it does struggle to truly simulate what it "feels" like to fly the aircraft. No matter how accurate the numbers and cfd models are, the home simulator naturally has it's limits that even the most talented developers can't just magically surpass. That said, Black Square wouldn't be the first to push that limit, and they certainly have done so in other areas of their products, in my opinion.

@@Azchk have you flown the Comanche ? Or the Da 42 from COWS ? They somehow pulled it off. I'm expecting the same from BS too

@@Azchk Well, the A2A Comanche doesn't struggle to capture the feeling of flight. Neither does the Da42 from COWS. Will this Duke be the same? We'll find out soon.

Boris, you TOTALLY missed one sound that the Duke 'made'...the sound (GASP, Whine, "awww crap", sigh) the owner makes when getting the bill after the annual inspection. The Duke was never a cheap machine to operate.

3:05, wow... for the FIRST TIME!! I can hear the propeller chopping the air when they change the pitch, that's something that always excites me when running up on the side of the runway

The A2A Comanche also does this but it's the only other plane that seems to model that sound correctly.

Oh sorry… I truly adore the sweet voice of the narrator that hide all the noisy noisiness of the airplane. Really is nice to not have to hear any of the sounds he’s talking about. Much love. ❤

Did we just get A2A quality from another company? What an amazing time to be a simmer. So I have my single engine high fidelity GA, now dual engine high fidelity GA.

Maybe. We'll see. A2A is about so much more than systems and failures. First and foremost, it offers external flight dynamics that make you feel you are steering a real aircraft. I hope this one comes close to that feeling so I can add it to my small fleet of ultra realistic aircraft in MSFS.

@@internerd91 No. Just no. The Milviz C310 is literally a port over from FSX/P3D and has garbage systems modeling and bad flight dynamics. I know because I own it for FSX, P3D, and MSFS. The Flysimware C414, while it is more fun to fly, and better then the C310 is nowhere near this level of fidelity. How do I know? I own that one, too. I've been looking for a high fidelity twin ever since A2A crashed their real world Aerostar(was supposed to be their first MSFS plane), they had to table that project and focused on the Comanche because they still had unrestricted access to the one Scott Gentile owns, and is the one the A2A Comanche is modeled on.

@@hyperion2502 IMO there's the Comanche and the new Da42. The Twin Star isn't on the same level as the Comanche from A2A, but it's a complex simulation that was made for instructors and student pilots. And it flies like a dream, considering it uses the default flight modeling tools. The devs are now working on more features like failures. For airliners, you've got the Fenix with the new update. Before the update it didn't fly like the real A320, but now it''s much closer from what I heard. I don't own this one though so this is just the feedback I gathered from knowledgeable people.

I love my Fenix A320 and PMDG 737-700, but there just is nothing that beats the sound of a twin prop going into Beta Range. Love that sound.

@@semprequevoceolharoscoment1843 I'm sure that would be great but nah, twin prop going into Beta is just in a class of its own. Jet Reverse Thrust will never beat that sound for me. Always loved that sound. Esspecially on a Beechcraft 1900.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! This will set new standards for flight simulation. I'm loving these preview videos. They're gorgeous and provide important information. This looks like it will be in the category of gold standard releases.

Very nice guys, but please...that ground roll is too harsh & loud too early on when speeds are still low...doesn't sound like you have scaled it yet in this video. Lovely stuff...hoping it fly's as smooth as these videos 🙂

That's the big question. Considering that with other BS aircraft the flight dynamics section of the product features is usually 1 sentence long, I have my doubts. But I might be wrong

Tbf I always ask people to turn off fsrealistic sounds for any sound set I make - it always adds sounds that are already in, and makes it sound wrong

@@BorisAudioWorks'tis fair, i ended up doing the same thing for the A2A Commanche too, because half the effects are already part of the aircraft there as well. Which is good, because even in aircraft that do benefit from FSR, it needs a fair bit of customization to make it sound decently appropriate. (Those airframe wind noises, eh? It's like they put highpass filters on them. x_x) So in that sense, the lovely soundscape on display here, as well as the vibrations on engine start and such, are saving some of us a lot of fiddling with settings. :)

@@lazo5784 Nah, the proof is in how it flies. It can how all this shiny bling and still feel wrong. The Comanche actually feels like a living breathing machine nothing I have seen in any of these videos really makes me think the Duke is on the same level as the Comanche but it is close.

Even the default Asobo airplanes have wing flex, so no they are not the first in MSFS or even in simming. A2A has it modeled on their planes as well. You should check out the wing flex on the F-16, F-14, and F/A-18 in DCS: World as well. The upcoming F-4 Phantom II has wing flex like crazy.

Not likely but never say never. It's a decision for the developer and I can't see Black square working on X-Plane on top of MSFS as a platform, currently.

The 'beta' range has a very specific sound to it and thus far unfortunately no one has been able to replicate it in MSFS properly in my opinion. ATR is one very good example which in real life sounds in a very special way when in beta but the version launched last year is nowhere close. In this here video, 07:54, it is audible but rather quiet.
