By the early 1930s, the grassy plains of this region had been over-plowed by farmers and overgrazed by cattle and sheep.

Don't know how long it has been since we all had red sand here in the Netherlands, that had to do with a storm in the Sahara, in Africa, only 1 day. Last week I mentioned the Band Kansas. I've had the LP with that Indian on the cover with a glass bell over his head and there was a wrecked highway with pillars.
