Look up the unused script for Darren Aronofski's Batman: Year One. You will see A LOT of ideas that went on into other movies like Todd Philips Joker among other films like this one.

Requiem for a Dream is both amazing and horrifying. If a bit too shocking for shock value. There are two other Darren Aronofsky films I recommend, The Fountain (which is his arthouse flop) and The Wrestler (probably his best film).

I thought The Fountain was absolutely amazingly beautiful! Easily my favorite performance of Hugh Jackman. Mind bending love story of the soul through past, present, and future lives. All happening simultaneously. Blew me away. Requiem is also beautifully hauntingly horrifying. A film that demands everyone watch it. However, just one screening may be too much for some viewers to handle. Highly recommended but with word of caution.

I like to think she killed her older self. The red blood spot right in the middle of her belly is symbolic of her cutting her umbilical cord with her mother.

You hating on Natalie for Speaking within the first 4 minutes is honestly the stupidest thing ever. Like thats some hater ass shit. Some ppl naturally speak that way, but she was doing it on purpose for this film because the character has been infantilized by her mother her whole life. Maybe watch a movie before trying to pull that tired ass "shes such a pick me girl" bs.

My thought is that the movie is about drug abuse by professional artists and athletes. I know it's extremely simple-minded, but I keep seeing it.

i love this movie so much!!!! I think it really hits on how having OCPD and her need to be perfect, being paranoid that everyone is against her resulted in her demise.
