Guys this paper is called Heat transfer paper. You do NOT use sublimation inks with it, you use normal dye or pigment inks, preferably pigment as its waterproof ink.
In this video, sublimation in is used. Dont forget sublimation ink is just… ink. Transfer paper in this video is a polymer product. So there is nothing that wont allow you to use dye sub inks on this paper. No need for new printer with new ink.
Hi, No, it isn't. it is a vinyl and not a "paper". Much more durable. And in did, you can use any ink, but sublimation bond with it and stays on for longer time. Please do not mistake it as cheap paper as there is loads of grades of papers on market. regards
how to print stuff is waterproof inkjet transparency film the same as the transparent paper you are speaking of. Meaning can I use the waterproof inkjet transparency paper that I have or do I need to buy different transfer paper???
Im so confused! This video is super helpful but my question is! Can you cut any type of paper? Or it has to be a specific type! Im using CHROMA-COTTON TRANSFER PAPER can i use that machine to cut around it as well? Please help!

Hi, I know this was printed a while back. However I am using a sublimation printer and used normal dark transfer paper, but after a couple of days, I lost a lot of colours and the image went blurry, would this happen with this? Thanks dude, your video was great by the way

Because on cotton fabrics it fades after the first wash to such a degree that the garment is not wearable. The ink remains at the surface of the garment for some reason, it doesn't penetrate the fabric.

im having issues with fading. Im doing sublimation on dark transfer paper. Ive done what ive seen online which is to lower the temperature and press time,., still faded. Any advice?
Baltimore Bishop use plymer powder before placing paper on t shirt.cover print gently and lightly by polymer powder then remove extra powdee and print good luck.!
Been having the same issue. Sublimation ink keeps fading with heat transfer papers (dark and light). Thinking to switch to pigment inks using the heat transfer paper.
This isn't for sublimation, maybe that's the issue. It is recommended to use pigment-based ink for print transfers. When shopping for ink there's sublimation ink and regular. I would use sublimation ink on sublimation transfers only.
Carlos Escalante yes, use regular ink from an inkjet printer. I had the same fading issue with heat transfer paper and then realized it's because the sublimation ink does not get "absorbed" into the paper, because this type of paper is not for sublimation
Hi, so glad i found you testing this. Ive been trying the same, i have the sawgrass sg400 and using 3g yolo opaque paper. Everything looks great until its washed then i get white marks and fading. I havnt pressed for any longer than it states maybe i should try this as its sublimation inks?

+Tate Hancock printable vinyl you need to press i believe, before cut and then press again. this is transfer paper that can be used with any inkjet. also sublimation. it last very well in washing too.

Yes, that's the paper I use but with Printer Jack sublimation ink. Cosmo ink is better so I'm sure it will work just as good. Always use the dark transfer paper over the light garment paper. Happy Subing
Can you explain the cutting mechanism in your machine? Basically, is it part of the printer? Is this standard on some printers or most? And if it is separate where did you purchase it and how much did it cost you? This info would save alot of businesses alot of headaches.
i got the siloutte but im having difficulty getting it to scan the paper to track the image edges and then make it cut? their isnt any options for it on the screen and cant see it in software
I think I may have asked my question wrong. I want to be able to do heat transfers on any type of dark colored fabric. Cotton,polyester, blends etc. You just did one onto a black shirt. What did you do different, that I guess other people dont know, because they keep telling me that doing these onto dark colors, is not possible?
i dont think you understand how sublimation works. What you can see on video is printed on t-shirt transfer paper that is contour cut and than applied to t-shirt. Sublimation transfer paper works different and it wouldn't transfer. Sublimation paper and t-shirt transfer paper are two different things.
Cotton :) But when you say "can't print with sublimation on cotton" means only if you try to print directly on cotton t-shirt. In video i printed sublimation on transfer paper and than it was applied to the t-shirt.

you are right. you can't use sublimation ink on 100% cotton directly. hence I print on vinyl transfer and then applied that. inks bonds to vinyl instead of a t-shirt. is the cheat you can use.
Hey, thank you for the vid! Can you tell me what the printed image feels like on the t-shirt? So far where I live (brazil) i've only been able to find some dark transfer paper called 'OBM', which is really just a polyester cloth with some sort of glue on the back which I guess sticks well when heat pressed. It feels and looks unnatractive. I was looking for a paper that feels better on the t-shirt, almost a sticker feel, just something that isn't too thick.
+Christy Aguirre yes :) as this is heat transfer paper that CAN be used with sublimation ink. this give you advantage of using only one printer for both, sublimation and heat transfer papers.

I've watched several of your videos and have been trying just regular ink jet transfers with inkjet printer. the image don't seem to last very long. i guess i still have much to learn. using sublimation ink doesn't change how long the image will last right since you still used inkjet transfer paper?
+Christy Aguirre Yes, but in theory sublimation ink seats not only on top of the paper (in fact its like vinyl) but it bonds with it duo to turning into gass after pressing. so should be more durable.

question.. i have the registation marks around image and when i went to print it says registration failed everytime i tried. do you know what the problem can be
This process has too many downsides, it takes forever and it's impossible to make any real money at it, the hand is so thick it feels like vinyl and the image won't last through but 6-7 laundry cycles before it starts to peel. I tried this stuff and just about every other product out there and I always go back to screen printed transfers, sure they cost a bit more but they save a ton of time and you don't need all the expensive equipment. I downsized to a couple good heat presses and a good computer with Adobe Illustrator, I do the art at night and store it on a flash drive, drop it at my buddies print shop in the morning and pick up the transfers that evening, he knows that I sell high-end garments and he keeps his quality up to my standards and because it's an everyday exchange he keeps his prices where I like them. A 6 color full front or back is $1.25 and a left chest is $1.05, and single colors are less than half that.
it is vinyl. so is like eco solvent transfer. but it doesn't crack at all. you probably had cheap transfer papers. this one is very durable. I am not big fan of this personally, but i must admit, quality of print is great.
