@crcr74 Thanks for the kind words. The singer is from the band Within The Eddy which disbanded in 2010. The guitarist is Dixie Duncan who plays solo (some videos on my channel) and is also in the band The Dreaded Marco currently. There may be a few more videos in the next month or so of acoustic covers.
This is a fun cover. I was wondering how someone might cover it with just one guitar. (My daughter plays and sings, so sometimes I do the mom thing and look for suggestions). Believe it or not I thought of this song when I saw a photo a friend of mine posted on social media of their pet tarantula 😆 The original seems so bass-dependent, y'all nailed it with just the one guitar, no percussion etc. I wish I had a little more control over the balance through my laptop, but alas. BTW. The song was written by Christopher Ward & David Tyson. It's unique. Allannah Myles charted with her recording when I was a teenager. It's a real classic.

Great performance. This is the original key of "Black Velvet." I've been experimenting with the keys on my guitar I can't seem to follow Dixie's chords. What's the tuning on the guitar?
No idea. I don't play guitar and he listened to the song twice right before to learn how to play it. Not sure if he even remembers how he played it. You could hit him up as he is easy to find off google.
