It’s sad how this woman can’t see how lucky she is to have a mom raise her throughout her childhood. I lost my mom when I was 2 and my dad had to raise me alone. He’s had to work a lot to support me and it wasn’t easy for him. I love my daddy and appreciate everything he has done for me. I just wish I could’ve been close with my mom as well it really makes me sad that she doesn’t appreciate her mom. Her mom seems like she is a lovely woman and really worked hard to provide for her daughter.

After a little "investigating", this is exactly the plot line of "Imitation of Life", a film from 1959. The daughter wants to be considered white and is embarrassed by her black mother. The black mother in the movie is also named "Mrs. Johnson". I can't believe this made it on TV as an actual court case.

I'm white, but my mother is a single parent with no college degree and she worked endless hours and days just to raise me. I am so grateful for her and I tell her all the time. You can teach your child one thing and then outside influences teach them things contrary to the standards you set for them. Millions of parents around the world have taught their children right from wrong and the child makes their own choices. As parents the most we can do is hope and pray our children make the right decision. And will develop good/honorable character. I raised mine to be honorable, honest and brave. She did just the opposite. My grandparents raised my father to be honorable and hardworking and he chose to be a criminal. Can't always blame the parents.

This reminds me of the movie " Imitation of Life". In the movie there was a black lady who had brown skin and she was a single mother to a light skin daughter who people often mistake as a white little girl. When the girl got older she would pass as a white girl so she would have an easier life. One day her secret comes out and her white boyfriend gets mad at her and beats her up for lying about being white. Time goes by and her mother dies and she runs after the Hurst that her mother is in crying because she cut her mother out of her life and was ashamed to have a black mother. This case just made me go WOW.
