Awesome! I took my 1997 Collector's Edition 80 up there in September (Imogene and Ophir) while I was out for 3 weeks. Every night sleeping in the Land Cruiser and it was absolutely amazing. I was going to do the Rimrocker Trail to Moab again at that time but Moab was like 100+º so I just stayed in Colorado the whole time.
Hi, my name is Dave. I met you a few days ago when your group came through Fort Bragg Calif after coming down from Lake Tahoe. I had the brown 1998 two wheel drive Dodge Ram 2500. I checked this video a few days ago, and wow was it great. I love watching the trails you and others go on. So scenic, and of course heart pounding. Keep up the adventure. Looks like a great way to explore, relax and be terrified at the same time. I'll check out your other videos over the next couple of months. I follow a lot of Overlander's and had to subscribed to your channel too. Take care and stay well.
I have a 31 year old XJ and went with an aluminum radiator with an aluminum shroud 3 electric fans 2 on coolant temp 1 on a fan bypass switch in the cab and works great
need to add a secondary "pull" fan you can engage with a switch or run on thermostat. i live in AZ in the valley and that was the best combination i found. also swapped out the factory trans cooler for a new one and added a fan to to that for the same reason.
2 years ago did Utah Idaho OCT time trip in my 1996 LX450 what a trip that was fantastic views and test for this old Cruiser .....have not let me down .Cheers \-/
Great video. I'm also the proud owner of 3FE TLC. After driving from Texas to New Mexico and Colorado I will also be an engine swap. Anyways, looking forward to your swap video.
On the same boat as you man when it comes to engine power. Looking at options as well in the next year or 2. So far, considering a Toyota 3.4, chevy LS or a cummins 5.9 swap. Hopefully you'll do one of these so I can follow your lead lol.
Well, actually, I finished it June 2022. It's great! I've been to Moab and Rubicon since. Just need to get around to editing some video footage for you all, lol.
Hey, sorry to keep you all waiting. I'll try to work on the video series for the LS swap this winter. I'm just having a hard time sitting at the computer, lol.
It did great. I hit it a couple times on this trip, and I've hit it on rocks many more times on other trails. It takes the beating just fine. The improved departure angle helps quite a bit.
