Caleb Barnhouse year 9, to balance out his high win rate, as soon as a Blackbeard is picked his team automatically loses the round and gets an abandon sanction.
He will keep his shiled but the shield will magnet bullet to his face and it won't have HP or provide protection vs bullet (AKA a cosmetic magneting fell for ppl to shot around him and get free headshot.)

A 2 speed bb with no speed reduction due to the shield would literally just put him back up there on his win rate since he would have two guaranteed hs tanking. Anyone with any decent aim would get two guaranteed kills as a full 2 speed bb. Wanna quick peek with him? Get good with his deagle
I feel like if he was meant to be a rappel operator, maybe his shield could be deployed on windows and it kind of functions like defence's shield, but it will be much smaller
The thing is that when you play blackbeard it feels like having a piece of paper infront of your face but when you meet a blackbeard they have a fricking wall of metal infront of them
They should just make BB a shield operator or something if they're going to make the Scar-H useless. Or just make an entirely new gadget and ditch the rifle shield entirely
i enjoy the concept very much i really wish they don't take it away. i hate for operators just getting new gadgets when I was already enjoying the one we had. i hope they re balance it properly

Search “Defender MG” from Just Cause 4. It’s a bullet proof shield that only blocks your torso but your head and legs stay open. They could give this to black beard, give it health but make it so he can’t sprint or lean when the shield is flipped down.
@@plutoisaplanet6781 I've played since year one Level 300 Catering to new players is dumb. Look at csgo where bronzes have the aim of diamonds on siege. Eventually the game will be so old and mastered.. balancing for high skill is the only way to go.

Balancing for casuals hurts pros and people who take the game seriously WAY more than balancing for pros does casuals. I've yet to ever see one real argument for casual balance except for the irrelevant point of "oh no broken things to abuse and have fun with"

Why is Ubisoft still balancing around those graphs? They're nearly useless. You see operators skyrocket or plummet from season to season even when no changes were even made to them. There's just inconsistencies in the data. Frost once had one of the top win-rates; anyone calling to nerf her?

Stop arguing about balancing, blackbeard is a design mistake. He needs a rework, but until then him being useless is the best case scenario for the game.
It was the gun nerf that annoyed me more than the shield nerf with Blackbeard, his gun is so horrible for so many reasons which Matt explained but the only good thing was the 49 damage, it hit like a truck.
By the end of the game's life, everyone is going to do 1 dmg, their gadgets are bubble blowers that are only cosmetic, they give you one bullet, headshots aren't 1 shots, and you can't go outside as a defender anymore. I get the problems with Blackbeard (even though when I play him, I get headshot in the tiniest pixel of my head over my shield), but this is just evolving into a chain of nerfs apon nerfs. 1 recent nerf I've been seeing is Smoke isn't immune to his own smoke. What is this community?
I fell you, honeslty it just feels like the devs only ever make changes for Eleague, they sat on the recommendation of pooling reinforcements and they're just now considering drone moment for the dead. I just wish that the whole meta wasn't just controlled by try hards
yet another reason im glad i stopped playing this game, it just becoming call of duty. it seems like 90% of gadget changes are nerfs. there used to be a time where using the right gadget the right way could single-handily win you the round or game, now gadgets barely do anything and you win by just going in run and gun style with whoever has the best weapons
Were you ever above copper, genuine question? We are just exiting the most gadget heavy meta ever in the game. Blackbeard should be nerfed to the ground. Tanking a headshot is way too op even at gold and above.
I felt like two shots was the sweet spot with BB, this change feels really unjustified. Then again, Ubisoft has shown over and over that they don't care to take the time to properly balance shields, as soon as they see a shield operators win rate go up, they hit them with a massive nerf.

Console or PC? (on Console the SMG-12 is a joke I don't think I every saw it play... like outside of may be whene it come out but even than it was less played than most Pistol)
I’ve been saying for years: his shield should still be 50hp but it should be below the gun “where the trigger is” and protect the lower half of the body.. this encouraging you to aim more for his head than his body.. which is what you should be doing anyway with one shot head shots in siege.
1/5 game I guess it somewhat often tho perso am more trigger by Finkah and less by blackbear who only annying whene you fight him and isn't annying whene you die by someone boosted.
I've always wanted nerfbeard to be the operator that brings a rotary nade launcher that fires 6 smokes with 6 in reserves. Itll be a inderect buff to warden and glaz and bring some lethality to attacker.
Why? The pros reliability know how this game works,. Other people at lower ranks *might* know how balance and mechanics work in r6, but that’s just a total gamble on how many players that may be.
Man this change isn’t just for pro’s. In literally anything above low gold blackbeard is the most annoying and broken attacker in the game. Just because you silvers and bronzes never see him played or doing impactful things, doesn’t mean he isn’t broken. He is picked way too much in plat and above and deserves a rework. His gadget makes literally no sense
Blackbeard rework Blackbeard is known for his window play, and I think keeping this playstyle would be a good choice. Blackbeard now has a shield, like Fuze, except the glass is one-way. Unlike other shield operators, he also has a primary weapon along with his secondary and his shield, though it cannot be used with the shield out. This shield can be attached to the exterior of windows, with a small gap at the top. This essentially creates a Mira window for the attackers on said window. It can also be placed like a deployable shield.
On the subject of Kali, I don't think this is a good compromise. Based on the S3 designers notes, Kali had a -1.00% win delta and was only picked in like 6-7% of games. Why she needs to be hard countered by another operator is beyond me.
Simple idea to fix BB - If hit by a weapon capable of dealing 1 hit kills, it reduces the damage to that of a regular bodyshot instead and causes a strong shield stagger that throws off his aim and prevents him from firing. This allows him to avoid dying, but will prevent him just trading in headshot battles. As I feel most BB players are just sick of getting one tapped, this allows them to have a get out of jail free card without it making him incredibly obnoxious to play again.
They gotta stop gearing everything to the pros and high ranks, the existing nerfs gave him a good balance in the majority of the player base. Making his face shield pointless is a lazy cop out for em. Coz the whole point of Siege is the gadgets interchanging with the gunplay to make the operators unique. The change to Nøkk should be fun at least, gives her some more strength beyond just hiding from cameras. Keep up the awesome coverage
Blackbeard should get a rework at this point, they made his "bulletproof glass" into regular glass. They somehow made him a worse character than old tachanka. Atleast tachanka could hold a window down😅
I've always thought of just sticking a legit weapon shield on his gun. Being able to put a metal plate on either side of his weapon and give a little protection for peaking windows, doorways etc. Covers little less then half his head.
Ubisoft clearly has a shared universe thing. My assumption for a BB rework would be like the the shield from the Division series. BB could still have his primary weapon but, when he toggles his gadget, the shield could deploy and it would force out his secondary weapon (kinda like when IQ deploys her gadget). My assumption are that it would function similarly to normal shields, but doesn't produce a speed reduction- however it could be destroyed after a certain amount of shots (maybe like 250HP-500HP) and he'd get 2 shields but they'd be on a 30-45sec cool down after being destroyed. Idk a shield hybrid op would be cool.
the nerf is obv strong, but saying "even secondary pistols" can one shot it is just misleading, as secondary weapons have been hitting harder than most primary weapons for years now
Instead of the big clear shield maybe have it be a thick black shield on either side of the gun and has a gap in the middle for the sight. It allows for them to give the shield more health without it being broken because of the fov impacts of the opaque shield
Honestly his rework should be what he was originally tested as way back in the day, where his rifle shield is mounted on the bottom of his gun and blocks part of his body.
i play a lot of black beard and in my opinion the ability the block a single headshot would be unfair and slightly op he has no real counter picks the only way to deal with him is catch him off guard or hope the bb misses the first shot i would love a rework to bb as his character doesn’t fit the game and never will on my opinion and i’ve had this opinion ever since he was released
since they dont make maps for snipers anymore blackbeard was the alternative. you could hold lines of sight while repelling upside down looking through a window, but so much for that.
50 is two bullets tanked. You don't have to be top-tier to take advantage of that. In fact, if you can't somewhat-consistently win from the shield your aim is just dogshit.
The old concept idea for him was to have his shield but instead of protecting his face it only covered the sides so that way it was a one shot head shot but u would be protected against body shots in the upper torso
I feel like blackbeard should act like a offensive rook where he has armor plates that act like his current shield, keeping the one shot head shot mechanic alive but giving him something that sets him apart
What about goving him one of those *Army Of Two* rifle shields? It'll block most of his peripheral vision and make his ADS/Mobility slow while also retaining the ability to get shot through the slit he sees through.
With an insta-kill headshot mechanic being able to block even one bullet is an extra advantage however they need to either unnerf his gun, increase his speed or give him an extra shield in my opinion although test sever has only been live for a couple days so I guess we shall see but those are my initial thoughts.
