I really like that Jonathan doesn't talk while others are explaining something on his show. So often hosts will try to talk over their guests ... he seems to be very respectful.
BlueWorldTV, it would be very amazing if you found the figurehead of the ship, I mean, that thing would probably be worth who even knows how much money, or as they called money in the West-Indies, 1725, "Shiver me timbers, full o' reales!!". : )
Years ago I was on a diva trip off the coast of Maine and one of the other divers was an archeologist on Black Beards ship. It was great talking to him as we traveled to our dive site.
I reamember watching this when I was 7 years old and now I am 14 I now and this poped up on my 4u page bringing up the memory’s of me and my grandad watching this and he was telling me my diving stories and how he said he would take me diving one day😢😢
Wow, I am so impressed. "Concretions" is good way to put such layered reasoning. That drudging system was so surprising to me. I finally feel prelieved so far. Also that underwater communication is very compassionate. Very-Trendy. I'm so glad that there is a process for each artifact recovered and how each proportional link to the past was cared for, even as pre water treatment saving. Showing such examples while Jonathan Bird spoke about the time meticulations of service style, and potential approach set to life standard. Even giving others to wonder of such times existed by leave prepared reminisce at such museum service, therefore culturing the our past time love once existed for many years to come and service later generations who might of loved us way after we passed wefore them. Thank you for sharing and helping me cry peaceful lovingly. If don't meet in person in this lifetime, please take this with you friends❤
hi I am Carly. I am 7 years old. I was writing a book about sea animals and I was having trouble on some of the beluga facts and found your video about the beluga at the Georgia aquarium. And that is how I got into your videos. I've watched all of them and hope you do more soon!
I remember living on Atlantic Beach NC and we would always do field trips to the Beaufort maritime museum.may yrs I use to visit ..thank you for this Lil piece of home from someone who hasn't seen it in almost 16 yrs
Bar shot and chain shot were for taking out rigging. pepper shot was an antipersonnel wide spread shot. named as such because it looked like pepper corns
What an amazing video! You show us a lot of steps of the process, it's really fascinating work. You should consider keeping that beard, Jonathan, looks good!
Am I the only one seeing the meta joke of a man with a hook hand, leading the excavation of a pirate ship? Not to make light of his accident, I just thought it was kind of funny.
I’m from Bristol U.K. blackbeard home, there’s a pub called the ostrich inn on the dockside there’s a fireplace with a tunnel that led up to Blackbeard’s house , when he was drunk the landlord would ring a bell in the fire and his butler would hear it and come thru the tunnel and help blackbeard home
This is super cool! I've been watching all your videos and am now gonna get my certification! Your videos inspire me and keep up the good work! If your ever in vermont in the next year or so, I'd be honored to meet you!
Hi Jonathan! I was in NC the other day and saw the Beaufort Maritime Museum. I also went to the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores and saw a huge sand tiger shark! It was super cool. We also saw a wild eagle ray jump way out of the water in Beaufort. Watching your TV show has opened the door for a lot of cool experiences! Thank you!
would it be possible for gold coins to be preserved like the rest of the metallic objects? or would they be too light and be swept by the current never to be seen again?
Jonathan, I am 14 and am fascinated with aquatic life! When I grow up I want to do something similar to you, diving and educating people on animals! What type of degree/field would you recommend to do what you do?
Honestly? Get a business degree. Most of the people in this business would do a lot better if they were better at business. Besides then you have a good fall-back plan!!
BAflyer747 Las-Dtw-Lhr-Bey Rick had a very unfortunate accident a few years ago. He lost his arm and nearly his life. But he hasn't let him stop doing all the things he always did, including diving.
How do you raise one of Blackbeard's 2000lb. cannons from the ocean floor? Very carefully! Queen Anne's Revenge Blackbeard Cannon Raising Video Nautilus Productions HD Stock Footage
How did you like diving with a ffm? I recently just got certified for the ffm specialty it’s a lot different than diving with a mask and regulator that’s for sure takes getting used to
Jonathan do full face scuba masks ever cloud up while on dives? How do you clear them if they do? With a normal mask I usually let ocean water in and then breathe out through my nose while looking up and opening the bottom of the mask. It doesn’t seem like that would be possible with full face masks
Actually, because the inside of the mask is flushed with nice dry air from the scuba tank with every breath, the full face masks are less likely to fog than a normal mask. I never had any trouble with it.
So indeed Black Beard's ship is cursed not to reach the other world, somehow due to the restoration of the pieces it is neither alive nor dead but is somehow caught between the two worlds, the world of the living and the world of the dead, and with it all those who have sunk along with her.
+ Hondo Dude "Teach* His name was Edward Teach" Actually, his name is variously listed as Teach and Thatch; either is acceptable in scholarly research on Blackbeard. "Teach" may in fact have been not his own spelling of his surname, but a phonetic spelling based on how others heard the name "Thatch" spoken. (Consider how the name "Thames" is pronounced in England.)
I don't understand, why take voltage readings ? Is salvage and conservation so slow that one needs to work out what should be salvage first ? Is it lack of funds to salvage all the cannon ? Not trying to be smart just can't understand as it seem like a real time waster to me. OR is it information for other wrecks that don't have the funding?
COOL! CAN YOU GIVE ME A SHOUT OUT? IN SCHOOL, EVERYONE ASKS ME ABOUT MARINE LIFE AND I GAVE THEM THE CORRECT ANSWER BECAUSE OF YOU! YOU ARE THE BEST PERSON TEACHING ABOUT MARINE LIFE!
