I have a note 2 for personal use and a q10 for business it's a beast of device for business and emails , my note 2 I use for everything else which is also a beast overall
just ordered a q10 gold edition !! cant wait to seeeee it :) . I had a z10 for like 2 3 months but the main problem was skype (or other calling apps) crashing and battery life was sick

I like how you compared the exterior design, and feel of the devices but allow me to voice my honest opinion about the keyboard and functionality, as I disagree with a lot of points made there; it isn't really clear about the aesthetics (workability), especially about the Q10. You see, the Q10 is the best match of both worlds. It is as close as you can get. While it is true that one cannot eat their cake and have it, you have to be a little more clever when comparing apples to oranges. The Z10 and Q10 isn't a matter of which is better, they are one in the same with different operation period. Application can be written to take advantage of a smaller screen, in fact is possible to have a better experience on a smaller screen, this is where the creativity of the programmer comes to play. I am all so sick of Blackberry reviews these days because they get so winy. Lets take for instance a simple app such as sound hound, they cleverly made it work on the q10. Keyboard offers a different mode of connection, that many are yet to understand, it is part of the device and one with it at the same time. I am a media intensive user, and I haven't for once envied the bigger screens. If I ever needed a larger view, it's readily available in different forms, as you can always view it over USB, HDMI, or even wifi but don't forget is meant to be a phone and not a tablet. It's obvious the screen size is small, as obvious as in common sense. The Q10 is a road warrior, and personally I wish they had retained the home key buttons, which was now addressed in the Q30. I will hand this over to the beholder, as blackberry really did a good job creating two separate but equal devices (that's right present it as it is let people decide). I have used them both, and was very impressed with the Z10 soft keyboard, it was just about flawless, but it still isn't the real thing. The thought process is different when working with different input methods, there is a much higher risk of interruption/distractions on a touch screen than a hard key. In addition one of the greatest mistake Blackberry made, was to release the Z10 first. They should have either released them simultaneously, or if one had to be first the Q10 should have been first. Younger generations are always missing out on great things, keyboards, stylus, and simply a good handwriting, such things add good meaning to our everyday interactions. The best metaphor I can use, is that the keyboard gives one that hot-rod feel, it's like having a really good antique that works well, no one in their right mind will give it up. Another good comparison would be the same as if one compared an automatic car vs. a stick shift , tell me that one is better than the other... of-course it depends if you are going cruising or racing. It isn't to explain, but the Q10 is classier, it may be reject at first site but surprisingly becomes the corner stone because it works, and it isn't because people are fans rather there isn't anything like it.
I had both of em but honestly I think q10 is what make us choose blackberry isn't it? None of blackberry is doing a good job on game playing , media and etc. for people who are looking for entrainment , just go get an android or apple. By the way, I rarely use my z10....
ive been using the 9700 for 3 years now and its excellent for work. im actually getting the q10 but i thought i should get the iphone 5s. so blackberry for work, iphone 5s for fun and media. Perfect combo!
I own a Z10 and its about more than 3 months now. I can't say I'm happy with it. Every time I see my friends getting new games and apps, it kinda makes me sad.
very nice comparison on both devices. though i prefer the physical hand held qwerty keyboard phone with the buttons which is the blackberry q10 over the blackberry z10.
I'm completely torn! When I 1st went to the Verizon store and picked up both, I liked the Z10 right away. That keyboard is the best I've used in a LONG time! I have the 9930 now and like the PK but not married to the idea of the VK. BUT, I'm a cellphone junkie and go through phones at least 1 every 4 months and from 1st glance, I'll get more for the resale of the Q10 then the Z10...what do you guys think?
BlackBerry screwed up by making the screen of the Q10 different from that of the Z10. They should have made the screen longer in order to make it the same screen resolution as the Z10. If they had done that they wouldn't have the issue with developers delaying the update of apps on the Q10. Question for Mobileburn: Did you guys have the random reboot problem while testing them? I had it a lot with the T-Mobile Z10, did the Q10 have the same issue?
With the Z10 it depends, I have the STL-100-3 and it has the 1.5 ghz Snapdragon, if you have the STL-100-1 its still qualcom but not a snapdragon. Which will affect battery life. I took quite a few apps out and the battery life is good.
BB is not made for playing games and other apps, it's a solid everyday life phone. If I want those apps, I would use ipads, no point to play around with a small cellphone screen. BB is the right choice
I liked my physical keyboard on my 9900, I was going to get a Q10, but I ended up with the Z10 and it is the better of the 2. Terrific OS can install android apps.
I have personally owned a z10 and I loved it except for the battery life. I admit I'm a heavy user, but that battery life is absolutely crap on the z10, although it does have a phenomenal keyboard I'm going to get the q10 it seems.
I dont understand why Bb is charging pretty much the same for these phones compared to other way better phones on the market. Youd think these Bb phones would be cheaper. I have a feeling Bb wont be around much longer. Im really surprised theyre still around now.
I like the z10 cause it is a newer more high-tech looking phone, yet the keyboard acts as if it is a physical keyboard, just like the Q10. Opinion though.
im getting tired of touch screens for typing (im a iphone 5 owner) and i hate a lot the autocorrect thing. i really hope blackberry comes strong with the blackberry classic and the passport (missing the qwerty keyboard)
Also, not everyone who games on iOS or android plays stupid candy crush. In case you didnt notice, there are many console and pc ports on iOS now. Gta3, vice city, Xcom enemy unknown (which is a current gen console game) and so many more.
I'm a bit confused as to what the limit is for removable memory, you state it as 32GB whereas in my Z10 I have a 64 GB Sandisk Ultra which works fine. I can back you up with regard to the non physical keyboard on the Z10, once you get used to it is very good and easy to use although I must confess to finding the swiping up business to add a word spoils the flow.
Q 10 gives you That THE Blackberry FEEL as a hard core Blackberry lover i think rest all is same and yes the big screen is a big advantage ..guys but i dont know have u notice the bb logo in z10 is at he bottom of screen looks odd as bb is known to have logo on top on screen .it gives me not the same feel as proud owner of bb as q10 gives.
I think, it would be better if they made a phablet with a keyboard, or a slider that makes it come down, I personally would rather have the phablet with a keyboard
I went the other way, I had a z10 and I traded it for the Q10, and I am much happier with the decision. If you want to use it like an android phone in experiencing full screen movies and games, then go with the Z10; however, if you prefer productivity focus, or a just all-around road warrior device, then Q10 is the way. The best thing about the keyboard, are the built-in short cuts that are always ready to go, in fact I wish it had the home keys as in the Bold 9900. I have an iPhone 4s. Contract over. Hate the iPhone and android phones are huge. I really miss my old blackberry curve. The passport looks too big sick of giant phones. And the classic seems like a bold I would have to wait for. So I'm opting for an out of date q10.
Wait. This year is going to a big one for mobile device gaming. Its almost getting to the point where its catching up with consoles. The consoles dont update very often. Mobile devices are reaching all new heights. Some even more powerful than Pc's. Theyre already saying the next gen of mobile devices will be powerful enough to play games equal to those on the Ps3.
OMG!!! I hate the prediction aspact, soooo over touch screen, got the q 10 :) can't wait til it gets here :) I know it's all about personal choice I just cannot take touch screens anymore and they make you look dumb lol
i went q10. I've never owned a blackberry but i miss the physical keyboard from my Samsung Galaxy Epic 4g and that is why i went with the q10. I hate having finger prints on my screen.
Z10 it's better then q10. Am not joking q10 it's the bad phone can't download gta 3 on z10 you can download gta 3 also fifa 15. On q10 you can't even download piano So you must buy z10
because I guess BB usually builds business class mobiles.. & the users are even different from regular android users.. portability may be the factor what made them feel to build such designs :)
i have a q10 and there is a letter fuck up, it always make capital O. No more Physycal keyboard. another thing, water can get in the phone by the keyboard to.
None, forget about blackberry, get android, windows phone or iOS, why? because from the moment they announced that BBM was going to be available to every other platform, they f*ckd up.. WHY would i want to buy a blackberry smartphone when i can get the only thing that motivated me in the first place to get a blackberry on other platforms. Q10? i don't care about keyboards. Z10? i don't have my favorite apps. android simulator? it lags. honestly i used to love blackberry, but now... nooooo
have both, one thing that kills me is how much better the speaker is on the Q10.. should be the other way around.. the Z10s speaker sucks balls sounds like sh*t and very little volume to it
I had a q10 absolutely hated screen was to small when I was scrolling in apps it'd sometime go to active frame and the flick keyboard on z1o a lot better
People rushing to androids and IOS's cause they say they have the best apps.. LMFAO. Games, I cant even stop playing mg PS3 PSP Xbox and Wii over some stupid guy running across castles or some reorganizing candies.
Those who have a phone BlackBerry z10 am going to subscribe to his channel am not joking. Because I love z10 it's better then q10. This is to inform don't buy q10!!!! Trust me buy z10 or z30. The q10 phone the battery is going to finish faster also can't download Facebook on q10 on z10 I can download Facebook Instagram it's not working on q10 Wtf On z10 Instagram working am not joking just trust me OK
