I'm old enough to have actually watched the NFL Pro team .. the 'Boston Patriots' !!! The seasons 68' to 71' with Jim Plunkett. ---()---()---()-- Then in 1971, two significant things happened. The team changed its name to New England Patriots and .. they moved to a new 60,764-seat stadium in the town of Foxboro, about 25 miles south of Boston. Just 4 years later .. they picked up one of my all-time favorite quarterbacks ... Steve Grogan !!! Grogan was selected in the fifth round (116th overall) in the 1975 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. Although he would start every game for four consecutive seasons early in his career, his career was also marked by injuries and quarterback controversies, with Grogan competing with other quarterbacks for the starting job. His second through his fifth season were the only times he would start every game in a season. Besides taking the starting job from former Heisman Trophy winner Jim Plunkett as a rookie, Grogan would later face competition from Matt Cavanaugh, Tony Eason, Heisman Trophy winner Doug Flutie, and Marc Wilson. (By the time Wilson came to the Patriots, he had spent several years battling the displaced Plunkett for the starting job of the Raiders.) ~~~ In his first season, Grogan played in 13 games out of the then-14 game regular season, starting 7 of the last 8. Grogan threw for 1,976 yards, 11 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. ~ The Patriots finished with a 3-11 record, and traded Plunkett, their starter for the previous four years, in the off-season. (Plunkett would eventually lead the Raiders to two Super Bowl victories.) ~~~ For the Patriots 1976 season, Grogan led the Patriots to an 11-3 record and the franchise's first playoff berth since 1963. The eleven wins were the most Patriots wins in a season since the club’s inception. Along the way the Patriots defeated the defending Super Bowl champion, Pittsburgh Steelers (30-27). They also handed the Oakland Raiders their only regular season loss that year by defeating them 48-17. However, they lost the divisional playoffs (24-21) to the Raiders. Grogan scored 12 rushing touchdowns in 1976, breaking a quarterback record of 11 previously held by Tobin Rote and Johnny Lujack. ~ His record would stand for 35 years until broken by Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton's 14 in 2011. ~~~ In the Patriots 1978 season, Grogan led the Patriots to an 11-5 record, a division title and the organization's first ever home playoff game, a 31-14 loss to the Houston Oilers. ~ The Patriots set the all-time single season team rushing record with 3,156 yards (Grogan rushing for 539 yards and 5 touchdowns himself), a record that stood until broken by the 2019 Baltimore Ravens. ~~~~~ Statistically, Grogan's best season was the Patriots 1979 season, when he completed 206 of 423 passes for 3,286 yards and 28 touchdowns, rushing for 368 yards and 2 touchdowns. ~~ His 28 touchdown passes led the league, tied with Brian Sipe of Cleveland, and his rushing yards led the league for quarterbacks. ~~~ Grogan rushed for 2,176 yards (4.9 per carry) and 35 touchdowns during his career, a mark which places him as the Patriots' fourth overall in rushing touchdowns. ~ With Grogan, the Patriots made the playoffs five times (1976, 1978, 1982, 1985, and 1986 as a backup). Re-re-re watching. So appreciate the close ups of all the band members. For me this is the big 5 of BBS. And so so good. Am appreciating the close up when they play their instruments. Nice to see Brandon on the piano as often he is sort of out of sight. Looking at the guitar playing... I don't play. But I'm just so glad there are close ups of the guitar playing. Thanks again.
Because they are not backed by the mainstream Record studios. They have their own label and answer to no one but their fans who buy their music. I seen them in July in Frankenmuth Michigan .. The sound on my old crappy speakers sounded fantastic; very good filming and "Sleeping Dogs" was beyond great. "Let it Burn" is so appropriate for the world at the moment. See BBS in person; worth every centime. Every song is outstanding, every single one of them and you can see the band ENJOYING what they are doing. Yep, the 2nd half was badly synced. Agree. But just LISTEN to the music and watch the guitar work. I can't play one second on a guitar, but I sure can appreciate it. Charlie and the boys give it 1000% in every concert. "Some stay low and some get high." Well BBS is higher than a kite. 2nd comment tonight, sorry, but I'm enjoying BBS and the Capitol Theatre show for the MUSIC without complaining about the sync. What Capital Theater is this I saw Skynyrd in jersey, at the Capital in Passaic ,just before their accident.,opening acts were ARS and the Leslie West Band.Just a great show.These guys are the new great acts
Love BBS! Saw and met them in Cleveland 2 months ago. But I gotta tell ya, the sound mix coming through on this video production is horrible. Relix needs to do a better job if they wish to do more of these and have people tune in. I'd even pay to watch live online, but the sound has got to improve. What's coming through on my speakers really doesn't do these songs any justice. Amazing music, guys!
Ever think that it might have something to do with your speakers and not the production? Using headphones the mix sounds just as good as any of the other proshot videos of them on youtube
Just saw them at HOB Anaheim... Paul plays like zero leads and he can really crank them when he wants??? I don't get it either... He and Charlie sound great... Paul needs to play leads more...

Whenever the sound system has a buzz in it, you know they are using the right equipment....to me, an amp ain't an amp if it doesn't have TUBE BUZZ coming from it

The 60HZ or 60 cycle hum is becuase the guitar pickups, as they are mainly vintage, especially single coils are harmonizing with the massively old electric signature in the building. You can filter the hum out, but you lose character of tone. Every building has a signature.. caused by electrical power leakage mainly from poor shielding.

nah, its ok...you just have to forward a half hour through all the friggin commercials til the show starts....youtube is just like anything else...it always starts off great until GREED SETS IN.....after that, everything is RUINED and you can't watch anything without cussing at it
I go to see live bands for more than 45 years now...but I never saw a musician acting and playing sooo boooored like that bassplayer. I think he will soon leave BBS!
