I LOVED Blackhat. I felt this film had a quiet and elegant pacing to it that required my full attention because the action was more in picking apart the characters motives rather than fast paced car chases and shoot-em-up sequences. Granted there was some of that in this film, but it was secondary to just getting deep into the mindset of how hackers work and analyzing the way the gears moved inside their psyches. Also what a BEAUTIFUL ambient electronic music score by Atticus and Leo Ross (and Harry Gregson-Williams although according to Wikipedia, much of his music was cut from the final edit).
Blackhat was really good until the final hand to hand showdown with Hathaway and the hacker - the fight was embarrassing, this overweight tech nerd waving his knife around at Thor like he’s a threat. 😂
@@TheWaynos73 my guy maybe you've seen to many films but even the buffest buff lord can get absolutely fuxked by a overweight never-fought-before guy with a knife. Knives are no joke in real life. One decent stab and you have a massive problem.
I remember reading in a magazine a few years ago about this, how the banking cybersecurity sistems and infraestructure of the world was so fragile because basically it is run by a bunch of old people who don't want to lose their jobs but cannot learn new technologies for protecting this security systems, or maybe they don't want to, who knows, so they keep old softwares and security protocols. In this article they interviewed a bunch of anonymous hackers and what they said is that anybody with enough resources and knowledge can basically do alot of harm to the banking network, maybe not destroy it but they sure can do some pretty heavy damage, they said that it is basically trying to run a marathon in your 20's agains an old man in a wheelchair, how everything we do on the network can be so easily seen and how they can just take that information for their own agenda but they don't do it because makes no sense to harm someone they know is innocent and taking down the banks means not only the powerfull will suffer but the people who are tied to them as well, i believe this are called white hat and grey hat hackers and the ones that can do a lot of harm are called black hat hacker, hence the name of this movie.
They are best engineers in this movie They have developed a tool callec remote access tool....the main hacker in this movie misused that tool anc caused coolants of nuclear reactor stop.. The whole movie is about that tool..
Actually, you'd be surprised. It actually is. If the bank has open public guest wifi, boom. All you need is a wifi "sniffer" device that you can easily hide somewhere. Hide the thing in the lobby somewhere and wait for some unsuspecting employee to log on to the secure net via wifi. Have your sniffer log the key strokes and relay it back to your cell phone or whatever you're using and bam, you just got yourself a password and you're in. It's just that easy. I did this kind of crap back in high school just to screw around with people's iPhones and change the passwords of their Facebook accounts to "YourPasswordSux" at a Starbucks. Most places that have public wifi honestly suck at basic cybersecurity, fyi, banks included.
If you don't get it then they just done this the employee plug not the usb but a rubber ducky usb which computers treat it like a keyboard and so the usb start sending keystrokes which computer executes them and start requesting to connect the hacker's server on the other hand hacker's server was listening for the connection once the connection established this makes the hacker's computer a node on the bank network and then the hacker start executing remote cmds on the network to gather information which make transfer possible ## in real life this flaw is extremely rare you can't just hack banks using a rubber ducky
