I remember the first WASP record and remember the horrible responce it got from the critics. And I kinda expected Blackie to be another brash, outsoken, over the top rock star. Nope-quite the opposite. He is very intelligent and not a trace of ego, a very well spoken person. I guess that is why they say you can never assume anything about anybody.
Although, I am a Slayer fan, I admire WASP and admire Blackie! I think he's is the best metal vocalist ever and a very well-spoken dude, I like that! There are very few people who I actually like to listen talk - Blackie, Jeane Simmons (KISS), and Dee Snider (Twisted Sister).
I wonder what Blackie thinks if he sees these older videos. He still says the same.Still very driven.I keep watching these, there has to be alot more out there. Thanks for putting it up.:)
blackie,z been and still iz my ultimate idol. i hope he startz mentoring the youth, he knowz hiz path and iz a gentleman, the lady,z love him, a true trooper, cheerz 2 great musik on our herizon.
It gets tiresome keeping up a charade, that's for sure.... Sometimes when I see interviews like this with Blackie and similar artists, I keep thinking of a quote from another musical giant: "There are times I wake up and I think, 'My God, I wish I wasn't Freddie Mercury today!'” We all forget too damn quickly that these are all real people with real concerns, and real world-views. Maybe if we fans recognized this sooner than later and remind ourselves of these facts, we wouldn't feel so 'disappointed' or feel 'betrayed by our heroes' because we ignored that little "check engine" light in our brains, and we let our fantasies get too far out of control and we're suddenly shocked when we finally listen and hear what entertainers really have to say.
