What that means is you attach godly expectations to others, it's hard to be a "perfect" in any sense, especially in arts trying to make up new stuff and keep that same passion firing 24/7. It takes massive amounts of time and dedication to put this together, and in the end the journey there can burn you up badly, so badly that it can be hard to balance that life and life around you so that it can be enjoyed. Pls keep that in mind and show compassion towards artists

For those of you complaining about the video you need to remember that EVERYONE has a different interpretation of the music which can constantly change. Blackmill himself obviously heard something different than you did when composing this song and who knows, it may have changed by the time he ended up making this video. That's the great thing about music, we take what we need from it at a certain time and hold on to that until it fits a different emotion.
I like the different interpretations people have for the video! I don't think it has anything to do with "love". It's a battle within yourself, the good vs evil and trying to do what's right but falling into temptation and loosing yourself within, finding the will to bring yourself back only to lose yourself again.
okay reading the comments.. am I really the only one who enjoyed that video? I got it. I connected to it on some level. It made sense. Went well with the music. What? Blonde saves him, brunette takes credit. Blonde's in love with him, he pays attention to the brunette. That little dance off underwater is what I perceived as the blonde and brunette's sort of 'one on one' for the guy. Kind of like an argument but in an artistic form. Guy picks brunette. Blonde falls into despair (the part where it starts raining) and her world is torn apart by brunette (shows brunette dancing around in an explosive fiery background) that liquid stuff that flows out of blonde is in my opinion her life. and she dies. We see brunette satisfied and all smiles at the end. she swims away victorious. This video is beautiful ;-; I think it is
Believe it or not, that's actually the true version of Little Mermaid by Hans Christen Andersen. It's not as happy as Disney made it out to be. I'd definitely recommend giving it a read.
What this song says to me is something about the progress of mankind. What we've created as a species is incredible but... when compared to the incomprehensible; scale of the universe it is nothing. We become lost; caught up in the day to day human life and in all its technological marvels. But if you stop and look to the setting sun you see how little distance we've gone. How close to our beginning. What we've tried to elevate ourselves to... How can we ever compare? How far can we really go?

my interpretation: mermaid saves a human from drowning and fall for him at the same time. she tells her mer friend. the friend seeks him out before she can and takes the credit and steals him. the mermaid is depressed to find shes been betrayed, being out of water so long has a detrimental effect upon her life but the sudden shower rejuvinates her and she sums up the courage to try one more time but fails. running out of time she collapses and dies. her friend celebrates her victory over her like a cold hearted b...
No I think it's a human that takes credit or at least takes care of him, and forms a relationship before should could make legs, take to land an peruse him. The scene with the two mermaids show her getting the power to become a person.

I think I see what you're saying: everything in the song that remains like 0:00-0:27 is like the lonely guy, slow and kind of isolated in feels. And when the beat kicks in, it's what the man is looking at-people(unfeeling, uncaring?) moving briskly, cars in and out of time-lapse, like a heartbeat, stopping on point every so often, weather changing, seasons coming and going....

Search for CMA-Music. Its almost like HIS (I think: Robert JC aka Blackmill) music. I once even thought i recognised a blackmillsong but realy it was CMA.
