Bcoz the audiences at the main stage were waiting for Billie Ellish who performed much later at night , Aespa is just a guest of a guest , they performed for free or SM probably made a deal with 88 rising in order for Aespa to perform 💵 , Aespa performed around 5-6 pm , nobody really cared about them . While Blackpink is a headliner , officialy invited by Coachella , was paid to perform there , Coachella gave them their own stage and performed at prime time . The impact is difference .

Suddenly throwing them on a stage like Coachella after making them lipsync throughout and never having experience a real life audience before (which is due to pandemic of course) isn't gonna do them justice on a stage like Coachella....I get that it was a great opportunity but honestly watching their performance was quite awkward and embarrassing for me considering how the crowds were...not to forget how they couldn't engage with the crowd that had no clue who they were. Honestly they somehow managed it well despite that but Coachella isn't their personal stage/concert where only their fans are anticipating them...alot of ppl worldwide mostly western audiences from all over the world are coming (waiting for differnt other artists) and for quite a new group of kpop coming and performing like that...I don't feel the impact and therefore don't feel the gain. Their vocals are amazing no doubt but their music is not festive appropriate. Sm didn't even bother arranging maybe a remix or rock or edm version that can help give hype for the girls...it would've been a bit better if they did. Yg literally prepared a whole live band doing rock here and not to forget Blackpink have beat dropping choruses like ddududu/boombayah and many of their songs do actually which hypes a crowd like this. Sm should maybe learn some.
