That's the beauty of Red Velvet and to their concept because they are meant to be elegant and they are, like beautiful swans. Nxde on the other hand is stronger yet speaking louder to addressing the advocation. Shutdown is not meant to be elegant, not advocating stereotypes yet giving full sample to an elevation, giving people patriotism and strength to be strong. And all of these classical samples are very strong imo.
So sad that u can't accept another group success and made something perfect but ur fav didn't bruh let some groups have some praise and success gosh...
Feel My Rhythm has been played multiple times every single day since it's release. It is an amazing song. My favorite among these, but I also love Nxde and Shutdown. Red Velvet's upcoming release will also sample another classical and I can't wait to hear it!
RedVelvet didn't do it first but they make it a trend and popular. And also they use the sample in most of FMR parts and make it their own style. So i'd say RedVelvet has the best sample tbh.
@@alvionita5240 H.O.T a group under sm release a song Hope in the year 1998. Hope is known to have Beethoven's symphony no.9 Ode to joy sample. TVXQ Triangle took samples from mozart's symphony no. 40. Shinwa's T.O.P in 1999 took advantage of the sound taken from Tchaikovsky's swan lake.
Well SM is originally into classical music, they are best at mixing and of course their unusual weird concepts but they align it perfectly, puts everything into place, watching reacttothek made me appreciate classical music more lol, just wanna share hahahaha

There were many kpop songs that sampled classical music before RV. But when feel my rhythm became a hot topic after sampling, many groups sampled the classical music. So, we can say RV is the trendsetter.
Red Velvet's composers made use of their sample in the best way. Even some classical musicians swear by it since they used it not just as a part of the song but as the song's main theme.
Kpop will literally sample every single genre exist in this world. And I personally love it. And not gonna lie, from these 3 songs, I love how SM did their job. The quality is always superb.
The election for the Nxde one is so smart when we look into the opera piece and who sings it, it is so accurate and for me it adds so much more to the mesage of the song the others just sound pretty in the mix they made, i dont really think they put more thought into it.
FMR is musical interesting. Also they are so serious about the concept from costume, choreo, instrument arrangement, set performance, make up, album, MV scene & editing, Ballerina Teaser, story line, even the teory about Bach & RV. Nxde the song has cool lyrics. good song.
Red Velvet one made sense, as a visual art student I think their concept for FMR was very art based. ReVeluv’s have this folklore /theory about Red Velvet’s every comeback being interconnected (which personally is very interesting as fans have their own interesting interpretations to it). On the other hand, if we talk about this comeback, FMR was like a story which dwelled through the renaissance era and what better way to express it through the art. They did not only took classical music samples but also hidden inspirations from the great artists, for example ; Jean-Honoré Fragonard, John Everett Millais, Filippo Palizzi, and Claude Monet. So I think they created piece by rejuvenating old art pieces in a very respectful manner by adding their ‘Red Velvet-y’ touch to it. Their work always amazes me, that the group doesn’t only cares about the music but the concept too.

Feel my rhythm hits different man- they did not only sample a Bach, the entire FMR era was straight out of art history class (art historians, ballerinas, and classical musicians enjoyed it as well). If you haven't seen it, I recommend you do. A legit art experience they even released a collab with Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra (That era also gave in my dreams which is top tier RV Bside)
At least ReVe didn't just snip a part of the piece and looped it/used it exclusively in the chorus. They used various parts of the piece quite creatively and im still not over the song uwu

We could say RV brought it back, but SM Ent. has been mixing classical and pop for the longest time. Most of their groups have tried it. And btw, Red Velvet's upcoming comeback will also sample a classical piece! 😉
Any classical music lovers should listen to the first 25 seconds of “Feel My Rhythm” by Red Velvet. It’s really pretty and it’s you can definitely tell that they were remixing with Bach’s “Air on the G String”. 💜

It looks like people in this comment section don't know how sampling works. I find it funny when people complain about kpop groups sampling while western artist sample music all the time. The easiest to sample is classical music, because those songs don't have any copyright holders. Also, the hardest thing about sampling a classical music is to make it viral. There are many kpop groups who sampled classical music, but they still didn't get any attention. Honestly, I think most people commenting on this videos are trolls who hate on everything. Sampled or not, these people would still talk down to kpop idols
People don't even know the difference between quotation (GIDLE), interpolation (BP) and actual sampling (RV). How would they feel if they knew that classical composers have been using variations of pre existing pieces and interpolation for centuries? Would their head explode if they found out how jazz works and what a jazz standard is? Music, because of its nature, favours variation and armonization, which makes usage of pre-existing work to create new one something as old as music itself. Schools need better music education.

As a classical student mastering in cello, red velvet is definitely the best one. They took the entire piece and respected it as a whole and not just as a sample of 3 bars…
I don’t understand the people in this comment section who are outright bashing K-pop, a different culture’s music industry. I don’t know if it’s xenophobia, homophobia, or just people jumping on the hate train. K-pop is extremely diverse, but non-Kpop listeners only know about the viral songs which tend to lack as much musicality as other songs because it’s meant to be trendy. There are so many groups who have amazing talents, charisma, musical identities, and discographies that people don’t pay attention to because people over generalize kpop as this childish bubble gum pop noise music that lacks character. Look at Red Velvet for example. This girl group has one of the best, if not the best music in K-pop, and a lot of their music is higher quality than many Western artists’ music. They have touched countless genres of music and have explored who knows how many concepts throughout their career. But people never take the time to take a deep dive into their music, especially their bsides. I agree that classical music is not to be sampled half-assed as it would tarnish the original piece. As soon as Feel My Rhythm came out, I was afraid that it would become a trend to sample classical music. However, Red Velvet and their producers paid great homage to the original piece, and I think they respectfully integrated the classical piece into their song. Watch ReacttotheK’s reaction channel to see classical musician’s opinions on Feel My Rhythm. Hint: they liked it. I’m not sure about the other two songs that sampled classical music, but I know that Red Velvet among many other groups create amazing art that people love to hate just because of the K-pop stigma.
