The soundtrack wasn't played properly and they weren't really dressed for a performance. I'm a Blackpink fan but I've never seen this performance. kpop is a mix of both korean and english (usually mostly korean with a little english thrown in). and during japanese concerts they often sing in japanese
The thing to keep in mind in watching live performances of any acts esp kpop is that they do a lot of dancing. So all of them use back tracks and playbacks to help them get some breathing time and be in sync with the music. That is not to take away that they are still singing live.
