I'm not sure if you're asking more generally or in the context of this track in particular. But generally speaking a bass is longer, has less strings which are much thicker than a guitar. They are suited to play the lowest notes in a song and provide a foundation for all the other instruments, making everything sound more full. In this particular video though, I didn't have a bass of my own, so the "bass" part is just the guitar part in a lower pitch. Not very legit sounding, but with the bass present in the original track it wasn't a major issue for me. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it! :)
