You have a great ear! You definitely hear everything when the beat, tempo changes..quite impressive. Blackpink is the most subscribed musician on YT..enjoy your rabbit hole.
@@MCDofWCR When you watch the live performances of their concerts (Tokyo Dome, Coachella), they use a live rock band. It gives it a authentic festival vibe and changes the song a bit.
YG Entertainment is the company where BLACKPINK is located, and they don't use a green screen, all the scenery is real. They use the green screen in a minimal amount, the only place where it is used to a greater extent in the Whistle clip. You can say Pink Venom is the most expensive Blackpink clip
BLACKPINK gen3 is the best girl group, and still the best, the blackpink members are talented, amazingly talented, have a big impact, are all beautiful, want blackpink and blink to last forever 🤍
BP was my intro into KPop. They were just something I'd never heard before. I love dance and member Lisa is just a beast at it. I will admit, once I got into SKZ, I kind of fell away from BP, but I still absolutely support these girls and buy their albums. Their solo projects are really interesting, though there aren't very many. YG (their label) kept a tight leash on them, but they've been allowed to branch out on their own more lately, some have their own labels and projects now. Fun facts! The whistle is done by member Jisoo (pronounced the letter, G-Sue), she is the eldest member. This was actually a 2 part debut, they dropped another one called "Boombayah", but the girls pushed hard to have "Whistle" included. Both def get stuck in your head.
Thank you so much Tristana! The thing I just love about all these groups is their diversity and versatility- like nothing sounds the same it’s crazy! Need to go back and check out some more SKZ stuff as it’s been a little while now 🖤
@@MCDofWCR Yeah I really wish/hope more artists will start playing around genres and their concepts the way KPop groups do. It's just so fun! And you know I'll happily be here whenever you get back to SKZ haha, I've just been enjoying your journey through it all as a whole.
Yes, this is their debut song, this song won them first award 14 days after released, they debuted with 2 songs the other one is BOOMBAYAH, dance song, 1.7B views on RU-vid the only debut song on RU-vid history that get over billion views.
Good reaction. Welcome to the Blackpink Universe, it is a very happy place. Just FYI, Blackpink debuted with 2 songs that are very different: Whistle and Boombayah. Western audiences love Boombayah much more while Asian audiences made Whistle a bigger hit initially. Whistle is their Pink gentler kinder side, while Boombayah is more of their Black boss b side. Your approach to Blackpink is IMO correct, start from the beginning and watch how they have developed their many styles. What you may find most impressive is their live performances, from just 4 girls sitting on stools singing Sure Thing, to 4 girls fully choreographed performances as headliners at Coachella to 4 girls doing a radically different Encore remix version of their DDDD song in front of 55,000 fans in the Tokyo Dome.
Hey, so glad you're checking out BLACKPINK, love your breakdown! WHISTLE, along with BOOMBAYAH, were their debut songs, released simultaneously on August 8, 2016. WHISTLE is very different than most of their other songs, I'd suggest PINK VENOM, a more recent hit, next to see their current style. Here's their full discography for you to cut/paste into a file so you can find the correct links easily: BLACKPINK currently has 29 original songs, not counting solos, covers or collabs originated by other artists. M/V (Music Video) where available, otherwise Dance Practice, Live Performance or Lyric Video (Dance Practices and Live Performances do not have subtitles, just enjoy!) @@MCDofWCR Just subbed, hope you enjoy the ride. I've seen them live five times (I'm in the U.S.), they were also Headliners at Coachella last summer and also performed at the 2023 BST Hyde Park (they made a detour on their World Tour to perform at the BST)!
@@lazerx1828 thank you so much for the sub 🙏 that’s cool! I was planning to go to BST to see SKZ but sadly life got in the way and I couldn’t afford it at the time 🖤
If you like fast rapping you're going to love D4 (short for DDu-Du DDu-Du) , Shut Down and The Girls and for D4 i suggest you also check out D4 Remix Live at the Tokyo Dome The girl with the black dress and white sleeve is Jennie the girl with bangs is Lisa they are also known as JenLisa The girls on the roof of the white car with the leather jacket and yellow top is Jisoo and the one in pink is Rosé they are also known as Chaesoo They also have solo Projects Lisa - Lalisa - Money - Rockstar and New Woman which she performed both songs at the VMAs and won Best K-Pop for the 2nd time for 'Rockstar' Rosé - Gone and On The Ground (that i can think of right now) Jennie - Solo (but she has new music coming out soon starting in October) Jisoo - Flower
@@MCDofWCR no problem 😜 also if you are interested they have their own Netflix Docummentary called "Light Up The Sky" and the BlackPink House on their RU-vid Channel
YG Entertainment, the agency where Blackpink is located, did not want to release this song, considering it too minimalistic and simple. It was insisted on by Blackpink and Teddy Park (all Blackpink songs are produced by him). The song was a commercial success, and the song also reached number one on the Gaon digital chart. It was the band's first debut song to reach the status of "perfect all-kill" on the South Korean charts.
@@MCDofWCR Yes, and BLACKPINK remains as the fastest girl group to achieve a perfect all-kill (in only six days), and the only K-Pop group to achieve a PAK with a debut song. They also Have a PAK with two other songs, "Ddu-Du Ddu-Du” in 2018, and “How You Like That” in 2020. BLACKPINK is also the most-subscribed musical artist on RU-vid with almost 95 million subs and over 36 billion views on their channel.
Can't wait to see you react to more of the girls. Boombayah is the other debut song (much different) with whistle....or their newest mv's Pink Venom and Shut Down. Subscribed
Nice reaction, I see BP and I click. Although as person who listens many genres I do not consider the acoustic guitar in this song as sounding country.
@@wiseguy44g72 that’s fair enough. Music is subjective - though it definitely sounds like a 4 to the floor drum pattern with electric guitar licks that sound country to me!
Check out black pink's Du-Dududu then Stray kids cover/mashup gods du dududu. Their cover is the reason Ryan Reynolds is a Stay. Its an INCREDIBLE live. For other groups, you already know the boy groups I recommend but for girl groups I'd recommend Itzy (My favs, same label as SKZ) and (G)Idle.
