I like this better because it's less monotonous (repetitious, lacking in variation in tone, pitch or sound). It's more energetic and it sounds more 'K-Pop'.

Very unpopular opinion: I kind of understand why there wasn't much from jisoo in this collab(although they could've looped her part or idk). From what I've notice in this revamped version and the original, jisoo's husky voice in this version feels like it belongs here and is pleasant to listen, but in the original it would've sounded a little off. Like idk if you'd get me, but for me *personally* jisoo's deep husky voice compliments more with lofi beats and dreamy aesthetics or calming songs, or even soft songs with badass lyrics(eg. bibibi by IU without the og instrumental and somethingmuch softer to highlight her strong yet calming aura that she radiates), whereas the original "Ice cream" was more of an up beat "pink" song with kinky lyrics (which I'm not complaining about, there isn't many "girly" kinky songs in kpop. Most of them are badass hoe anthems, which are fire.). Also, selena's voice complimented the most with jennie, so they made her sing(rosé, if she sung with a deeper voice could've too comolimented selena's voice but that isn't a very YGE thing to do. And i don't wanna jinx her solo debut.). There isn't a YGE song without a rap, so there, lisa got the rap. Jisoo having a very unique tone to her voice got the least lines, and probably because this was a *collab* they decided to not having any parts highlight her since then her voice would've changed the whole vibe and this song would've been known as "jisoo's era/song" and not a collab. Jisoo should've gotten more screen time tho, her visuals fit the description or vibe of the song more than anybody, and she's the main visual(what happened? Yg why? This I can't understand. But I don't wanna jinx her first lead role in a drama. So do what you want but don't take away actress chu from us.)

the extra beat added into the "look so good look so sweet" part really brings it all together, the original sounds so empty. Mando really filled in the empty space in this song, imo this is way better than the original. And it was so satisfying hearing lisa's rap and then continued by the end part.

Guys so hear me out, if y'all gonna give some vocal parts of Jennie/Selena to Chaesoo, which ones are you gonna give? Because imo they perfectly fit those lines and I don't see Chaesoo doing better (no offense please ik they are good vocals and they will slay the line but Jennie and Selena would pull it off better).. or is it just me? Although for me, it would have been better just them making the song longer for more lines then those lines will be Chaesoo's... idk man, I find 3mins songs too short. For me, the original sounds empty, like something is missing out, but at the same time it's so repetitive and I feel while listening to it like I already listened the song for hours! Meanwhile this version feels fresh and like a true summer banger. I really like that the second part of Lisa's rap is put almost at the end(?), it feels better to listen. You just gave more life to this song and put the missing puzzle. Overall, in this comeback(?) I like how stylists put their effort into it and made girls look stunning! I really missed vibes like this since AIIYL. This concept really suits girls and I wish I could personally thank the stylists. :) Girls vocals always on point, even tho I'm still sad that Rosé and Jisoo didn't have a chance to show off their talents like Lisa and Jennie. But I understand that it's not their fault, but producer's and that even tho I can be mad forever, it still won't do anything. :// I think their producer's should start look up to you and learn how to make good songs and how to fairly distribute with lines. :)
