This song only touch blinks who know all Blackpink story and all the hate they have suffered, like when people attacked Jennie for being "lazy" or when people threw hate and racist comments at Lisa just for being Thai. The rhythm and feeling with which they sing this song makes it more personal. Although they have not written the song, I firmly believe that they participated in it, or at least for me. For long time BLINKS this song hits different and hits hard. We know their history, and most of the crap they've had to get through. This song doesn't need to be part of a drama to get the feels, their journey is drama enough, and that's why it hits like it does. I've been a proud blink since 8/8/16 & I'm OT4. Haha they always thinks BlackPink will release upbeat songs all the time, sometimes you just have to show your vocals powers which shows more in a slow tempo song like this. Sometimes i just don't understand them. Its definitely not typical to vibe in a song thats not upbeat to begin with. What do they expect but for blinks this song's message transcends to everyone. YNK is the least popular out of the songs on the album which is sad because honestly it’s one of my favorites. Kill This Love was not that bad of an era as people made it seem, “Kick it” was the song with the fairest line distribution and it was really good, and “Hope not” showcased their vocals like “Stay”. The fact that some of their dance practice have more views than “Stay” shows how people only pay attention to their popular songs like D4 or KTL. “You never know” also made their vocals shine and it was a very good closing to the album. But like always, people are paying more attention to more ‘upbeat’ songs like Pretty Savage and Bet You Wanna and overlooking the masterpiece that You Never Know is.
joyful_07 yeah! Honestly I liked KTL, more then HYLT... the b-side songs in the album were honestly amazing and Hope Not was a beautiful ending that showcased all their vocals (including Lisa)... I feel like YG doesn’t do a lot of softer songs because much of Blackpink’s popularity/views come from their more ‘upbeat’ some with the beat drops like KTL, HYLT, D4. Which is sad to me because so many people misunderstand Blackpink concept/discography from their one title track :/ Forever Young and See You Later are two different songs for instance.
This song made me cry why? Because I understand them "It's easier to judge me than to believe." This part is true because I already have experience with him. But early on they do not believe when you have done something good they do not notice but when you make a mistake they notice. It is impossible to understand why people have changed, especially the youth today, maybe because of the generation or because of the influence of social media.
This song hits different when you actually know the members since 2012 (PinkPunk Era). How they were supposed to debut back in 2012 then it was cancelled. Then some members started leaving the company due to their uncertainty of whether or not the will be able to debut.
True Blinks know just how personal and vulnerable this song really is to them. They've gotten so many hate comments, including death treats through out the years. It's their way to tell us that they've seen those hurtful comments.However they will still soar and continue with their dream inspite the pain that they feel. If you don't get that, you don't really see them. Not every song has to be upbeat with big drops to be feel heavy. I won't lie, I shed a few tears when I heard this one. It's ok to just like their bangers. You don't have to like every song. Some people only see them as K-pop artists. Some also see them for the beautiful human beings that they are. They deserve better.

This is the most meaningful song of Blackpink I have heard. It has such a important meaning behind it. The hate the girls recieve on a daily basis and all of it is because of judgement. They have gone through thick and thin and whether you are a blink or not, let's show our love towards these girls who have come to this point so let's appreciate the hardwork and things that they gave up to be here.
