Thanks Stephen. Best time of day early in the morning. I was walking in the local forest with my dog at 7.00am this morning, I love the early morning time.
I do remember when RNLI was near central pier & lost children’s centre too. Do agree with you about noisy motorbikes 😡. Thanks for showing Stephen 👍🏻☀️😀
Blackpool tower must have unknown powers, it always draws attention and sends out peace, I’d like to think that it is a beacon of hope and reward, you just have to respect it.
A nice early stroll along the prom and over the dune's of Blackpool Steve, Wind is the element that you can't see or hear it's the objects it passes over that vibrate and makes the noise Silent but Deadly, Prime example, you're in a lift with a mate and you're stood there silent with a big smile on your face and it's your mate banging the door trying to get out making the noise.
Evening Stephen, thanks for the update, great idea for the metal detecting, should get a group of you's doing it. It would be great entertainment and a good laugh. Seen that video about north pier, hasn't half changed since then, thanks again, cheers.
Thanks for your informative video Stephen, missed the last one. Think the lights in the marquee were damaged can't see how they weren't with that wind. Laughed when you mentioned the lost children's tent my best mate spent most of her holidays in it! Wouldn't like the leccy bill for the Blackpool Tower.😊😊😊
Evening Stephen there’s something about early morning, it’s unlike any other time of day. It seems to have a calming effect, thank you for getting up early and sharing it with us. Great video……….
I was in blackpool sunday 20th to Wednesday and was in the tower on Tuesday and the lightpool display from marquee was in a room next to the entrance to the tower eye.
Thanks for the video.Never been to Blackpool,so glad that you are okay, never seen so much sand.Hope the council clean it all up and return it to the beach.
Hi Stephen , thank you for your morning walk around. there is still a lot off cleaning up to do all the sand every where. it won't be long before I come to England now. take care and I'll see you n your next video. Mildred. xxx
Thanks for a great video Stephen, i always feel great after feeling crappy when i see the tower all lit uo, puts a smile on my face. Goid memories coming to Blackpool as a child with the family.. love the lightpool and the progector onto thw tower.......
Good video as normal, read something on the visit Blackpool ( lightpool ) the light display in the marquee has been rebuilt on the fifth floor under the tower
I recently visited Blackpool on the back of your review of the new'ish Holiday Inn. Oddly enough, I ended up in room 401 as well, where you can view the setting sun over the sea, a great view yes :D. And it was a nice room, really quiet as you said. Nice place. I could not find the £1 burger place, as Blackpool has an odd layout, so I ordered the calendar online. But the Lightpool was fun, and there were a lot of people on the promenade, lots of families which was a relief, no beer monsters haha, even up to 8-9pm enjoying the lights and illuminations. Thankfully it has been mild this October at times. I enjoyed it, so thanks for the inspiration and being a pleasant online guide to Blackpool. :)
I think the Holiday Inn should jump on the commercial opportunity that they have there and advertise Room 401 as the Stephen Cheatley - Walk on the Wild Side room, complete with a brass engraved plaque on the door and Stephens photographs and a calendar on the walls ! lol I think it would be fully booked !
Hi Stephen thank you for another great video as so glad that Blackpool has recovered from the storm the tower looks amazing love the light pool have a great day xx
I remember the lifeboat station and the lost children place, also at the side of the north pier there was a pub called the merry england bar which we used to frequent.
Thank you Stephen, just love your videos, so informative, I've have learned so much from your videos, so brave of you to go out in that storm, our intrepid reporter.
Hi Stephen The, Chip Shop you just feartured on here, I went next door the next one called Lillys, the fish was absolutely gorgeous, cooked to order and I walked along Central Beach enjoying it last night
The long rectangular post looks like it's from one of the piers... I hope not... Thanks for another great information video the sea looks beautiful. Hope the horses got home ok.
Thanks again for the update on some of the Lightpool exhibits Stephen I'm looking forward to see the starlings murmurations when I'm in Blackpool in November and I'm hoping to get a calendar at either Chris's or Petes take care
The North Pier thing was between the actor Colin Wellend and the North Pier Manager, about the modernisation of North Pier, which Wellend was against ("Like Newport bloody Pagnel services!), whilst the Manager enticed people to visit the Merry England bar and admire it's new artificial tree! It features in a compilation made for BBC4s Blackpool night from 2019, this being called "Blackpool On Film"
Yes Steve, Flux Extended survived. It is in the Tower building. I've been to see it last night (23 Oct). It's in the bar that hosted the Elmir elephants earlier this summer. It is fantastic. I highly recommend going to see it. I am amazed that it survived a 10m high tide flood at 2am Monday morning as well as the wind, considering how delicate it looks. Spiro is still out of action. Since it's there for the duration of the Illuminations, wouldn't you think it would be more robust and able to stand up to the weather. Hopefully they will be able to repair Spiro. Luckily the baubles survived and my favourite Odyssey. It is Neuron that got badly damaged and have been taken away. The Aqualux Wall is another casualty of the storm. It was ment to be near the Tower building but they decided not to put it up. It was at Bickerstaff Square last year and on the Promenade the year before. A little further on from Somnius, at the North side of the Metropole Hotel, The World In Your Hands exhibit is situated. It also survived the storm. And so did the projection equipment, and everything else in front of the wind break. The Tower Projections and Tower light shows are very good. Blackpool Radio put on a great show last night. The Tower looks fantastic in your video Steve, pity it's not that lovely golden colour in the evenings. Thank you for another great video xxx
Hi Stephen - For whom the bell tolls lol. Those two guys you mentioned at 14.20 - were they wearing bowler hats and one was chubby and the other skinny as it wouldnt have been Laurel and Hardy would it on their UK tour and visit to Blackpool? lol. I Think they may have filmed the bar scene from Trail of the Lonesome Pine in the Bloom Bar and later left a framed photograph in the Albert and the Lion Wetherspoon's? lol 😂❤
Has the council not offered you a job yet Stephen. Walkabout Advisor. Good title for you, because they dont know whats really happening in Blackpool like you do.x
Here’s an idea for a Walk On The Wild Side contest. Guess the number of chippies within the city limits of Blackpool. The winner receives a £1 burger. 🍔 😊
I agree with you regarding noisy motorbikes and other loud vehicles. I live on the main road and 99% of the vehicles are fine but you get the odd noisy one no considration for the residents.
Could you do an update around the police station ,law courts area, if the demolition is going ahead. I read the company behind the building works as gone into administration.
By the way if Coyote Ugly Saloon is anything like the one in Liverpool, Bold Street, it has a wide bar for people to get up and dance on, which people do, and very entertaining
I remember that market you started at being on fire due to a dodgy cigarette lighter on a stall I went to watch the might Rams (Derby County) take on Blackpool we won 3/1 that must of been a once in blue moon win for Derby lol I remember the old lifeboat house with it ramp in to sea with the d class boat in it that’s showing my age lol 😂
The reason the sand piles up near the pier is probably because of the pier building facing directly those on the front, creating a wind tunnel effect. Also, have you heard about the Blackpool Central development!? It might not be going ahead now, so all those businesses and markets they shut down might have done so for nothing! Apparently, the company behind it - Nikal Ltd - is going bust and have to call in the administrators.
Hi Blackpool greatest sons well done you keep it up you are doing a great job and having fun making some brilliant videos superstar Ali Walsall west midlands england junction 10 m6 Walsall churckery up the walsall
It's a pity Water Wings by Bruce Williams didn't get blown away. Storm Ashley must also be on the payroll. Looked like the hoarding you get round a building site. Who from Blackpool Council commissioned that... and at what cost? Hideous AF!
Does the Blackpool council remove sand??? The council in north Wales doesn't remove sand off the prom near where I live and cycling on dry sand dunes on the path is a nightmare 😂😂😂😂😂
@@davidhodgson4695 Hi David. I first picked up my mum’s Kodak Instamatic when I was about six. I became a professional in 2018, though I was having images published in the years prior to that.
Evenin sad the tent is not going back yea the wind break could be extended not many people about I remember joey blower in there 😊 beer monsters been about 😂 till the next one 😊
Anyone know if there is anything special on in Blackpool, I tried to get a few days away and my top 3 hotels are fully booked, and here I thought it would be quiet at this time of the year ?
Thanks. I searched and searched for information on that, but could not find any. How are visitors supposed to know where it is if I can't even find out?
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool There was a guy outside the Tower building last night, with Lightpool festival booklets telling people that thr Flux Extended exhibit is inside and two Tower building staff members inside telling us it's onbthe 5th floor. Xxx
Hey stephen why dont you show off your birthday hats what people bought you for your birthday people went out the way to do them for you even with your walk on wildside writing on .only fair you wear them in respect
What they need to do about the sand is make the asylum seekers clear it instead of just doing nothing because they're not allowed to have paid work until their case has been heard. There was a guy standing outside of the tower earlier telling people free light show inside so maybe it's the flux extended.
