I take a tour of Blackpool town centre, starting off by showing some of the houses due to be demolished for a proposed multiversity before checking out more of the Lightpool displays. Multiversity project www.blackpool.gov.uk/Your-Cou...
Hello again Stephen I don't like the idea of Blackpool council putting compulsory purchase orders on people's houses to build a multi varsity college Surely the council has land to build the college Thanks again for your latest video Stephen
When you film at night Stephen I always breath a sigh of relief to hear you are driving and not walking. Take care when you are on foot 🙏and thank you for another interesting vid 👀
another great video Stephen thank you very much. The lights look fantastic and the colors of the lights on the tower looking great too. The houses that they are going to demolish looked ok. They could build that college or whatever they want to build somewhere else. Please take care and be careful crossing the road etc while filming. I’m coming to England next Wednesday maybe I’ll see you in Blackpool one day. That would be great. 👍🥰❤️❤️❤️
Oh my goodness the church lights brought a tear to my eyes....so beautiful.. shame Lightpool has now finnished as from today Sat 28th.....just couldn't get there to see it
Warts and All Steveo you sure do comprehensive videos As you say it’s a pretty depressing area to live Keep us updated on the Compulsory Purchase Orders I hope the residents find better areas to live Can’t believe so many differences in such nearby areas in uk
I'm not too sure about the Lightpool in the church - seemed out of character for a church but if it's popular then fair enough - some of those streets looked very ropey- I wouldn't hang about there ! The Fireflies looked brilliant !
Good to see you out and about, looked very busy, the light display in the church was beautiful. We have had heavy rain since 7pm,So no moon tonight ,Shame it should have been the eclipse, take care Stephen thanks for the vlog, was great bye for now 😊
Your night videos are fantastic, thank you, I hope you've picked your pumpkin ready for Tuesday, it would be great if you could do a spooky Halloween walk on Tuesday 😊😊
BTW, another great video. Blackpool reminds me of the way Skegness has gone or Ingoldmells next door - OVERKILL on everything. Those places were much nicer 40-50 years ago and had enough amusements and rides to occupy our minds. Today those places have been killed to death with acrades, bars and eateries to the point of nausea. When I went to Blackpool in 1987, 88, 1990 and 94 it was a continuous row of chip stalls on the sea front. In my childhood it was rock and gift shops. Places change and have to move with the times. Trouble is, I am not sure if Blackpool is trying to lead the new direction or just follow the current one? The 4 shadowy figures @ 1:07 look suspicious. Be careful when you're out, buddy.
It’s not half as “dangerous” as people make out. I’ve been to much worse places (I’m local btw). It’s just unfortunately been left behind as a town and the people are a reflection of that.
Hi Stephen thank you for another great video as always aww that sacred heart was amazing so is aqualux so many changes happening in Blackpool be interesting to see what it's going to look like when it's completed have a great evening xx
Nice walkabout in the town Stephen. It was trippy in the church for Lightpool. Love the firefly lights on the promenade. Lively all around the pubs and bars.
You are treating us with 2 videos on a saturday night. The holiday express is looking like a good shout for a place to stay next year as I have already stayed at bloomfield travelodge and talbot square premier inn.
Doing some fast walking Stephen, I don't blame you. But still great to see the wildlife on the wildside .. but oh my goodness how beautiful the lights inside the church ❤
Loved this Stephen, always great to see the dark side of Blackpool, you can't beat seeing a real, honest video showing life as it is away from the bright lights. Excellent coverage of the various Lightpool pieces around town too. My favourites this year had to be the fireflies and the goldfish, so pretty and unique. I love the night time videos, looking forward to some more of your gritty, dark stories, told of course in your own inimitable style xxx
Another excellent video. I love ANY reason to get people into churches. It helps to take away the mystique that sometimes scares people. Before Gents the club was called Revolution. Your ability to do useful commentary throughout your videos sets you way apart from other vloggers. Blackpool is a very "light" structured town even without Lightpool as your video shows. Brilliant Stephen, just brilliant, thank you. PS, can't wait to see the carnage in Talbot Rd when the trams start going up and down. Will be hilarious. Thanks again and good night!!
Great video Stephen. Everything seems different in the dark, and going dark early now ! Seeing all the lights so bright and tower. Etc ….. so sad to see those awful deprived or and rundown streets, once we’re glorious in old days would imagine. Actually the houses look quite tall and big. Odd antics above roof on some looks like it. Times change, but has to be for the better and for the seaside Blackpool town. Never heard or seen of this Lightpool before til now watching it on your videos Stephen, absolutely stunning, amazing, colourful and what creations. It’s good that your can have your road trips. More safer in Your starbus guess dependent on where you walking but. We all want your safety as prime importance. We are all so happy and appreciate watching any videos you do, it’s what and how’s best for yourself Stephen, I really do appreciate all your hard work in all seasons and weathers, your dedication, and. Time, commitment, and what a hive of knowledge you are, only one. “Mr. Blackpool”. Oh yes, “It’s going off in Blackpool”. seems haunt and follow you eh ? Lol. Wow what a delight to hear that. Mediation and soul calming music in church wish could of gone in there, love churches and the lights on ceiling lights a kaleidoscope of colours like stained glass window shapes. How artistic to co-ordinate with the music too. Love it. Ooooh firefly’s. Beautiful. Love all of it. Thoroughly as always enjoyed the video. As with every single one of yours Stephen. Stay safe. Bet you can tell. Di’s. Back. with my long. Sermon. As my comments. Haha. Been in Spain to my Spanish. Family’s baby’s christening. Have missed and caught up now on your. Walk on wild side videos. Takecre. Di. Xxxx
Lightpool light show in Sacred Heart was beautiful, loved the music. I have been down some neighborhoods in a very bad section in a rundown city in New York, doesn't frighten me unless I hear gunfire.
8:04 Marco's - How bourgeois. 8:13 Love the bit about all the diners looking out of the window to see the 'beer monsters' outside.🤣 Those people inside are going to have to come outside and chance it at some point. Can't see how these two 'cultures' will co-exist.🤣
Just came home from Blackpool, thought the footfall on the seafront was way less busy than the last few years. Saw more homeless as well. Had great time.
Hi Stephen again shame you didn't meet up with David, Andrew down them back streets 😂, i love the lights in that church 😊 i thought Blackpool would of been busy with it being half term, take care see you again Stephen be safe
Brilliant as always 👌 Please could you do an explore in an abandoned Guest House ? Saw one you did recently and was amazed at the old fashioned wallpaper and curtains etc. Always been fascinated by abandoned buildings ! Keep up the great work 👍
I don't think those streets will be much of a loss 😮 I had to laugh at the image of the beer monsters falling out of Ma Kelly's & getting knocked down little skittles by the trams 🚊 🤣 😂 😂😂
Hi Steve I looked up for staying at the holiday inn for next year for two people and the prices start at £199 for two without breakfast as the breakfast is an extra charge. I will wait for the price to be a bit cheaper.
I'm guessing there'll be a lot of people in Halloween fancy dress getting drunk round Blackpool tonight, I'm guessing Stephen will be in fancy dress too lol 👍
I love Blackpool...i know it's a bit rundown in parts, but be careful of "regeneration"... they did it here in Liverpool and now nobody in a minimum wage job can afford to buy a home.... terrace houses £250,000....and as for renting, no chance whatsoever thanks to councils in other parts of the country sending people here, not to mention huge numbers of "new arrivals"... many of us are stuck paying most of our income on private rental.no choice!!
I remember in my younger days bringing my National Express coach to the old bus station. I'd stop there for 5 hours before returning back to Birmingham. There were some real dodgy characters hanging around there. I'd always drive the long way in so my passengers could take in the promenade...
That will make a huge improvement Stephen. That whole area needs to go and be replaced with a big park for the plebs. Stay safe out there buddy. Love from Toronto.
8:14 Love how you mention the diners having to watch all the 'beer monsters' go by the window.🤣 How can a middle class joint attract customers with rowdy plebs outside? One has to go and I don't think the beer monsters will be going anywhere.
A Pure Gentleman you are Steve. having a little mooch around the streets of Blackpool at night. For a Friday night, i thought it looked a bit quiet. Not many people out in the town. Absolutely loved the Church Lights imagery on the ceiling. Just makes you wonder, where has the Socialising and getting together like what people used to do. Is it just a sign of the times now Steve. I think the Lockdowns we have gone through have really affected Business's all over the country. People can not afford to go out anymore, and most places are now to Expensive to enjoy yourself. Thank you much for sharing for film Steve. All the Best to you. Jonathan. ☺☺☺👍👍👍👍🌛🌛🌛🌛🌃🌃🌃🌃🌃🌃
Thanks Jonathan. The Sacred Heart church was one of many built at the time to cater for all the different religious sects in a fast growing Blackpool. Nowadays it's surplus to requirements, but there is a small community that uses it, however, it's probably not quite the same religious sect it was built for.
You always go all out to give us the views of Blackpool, good and bad, but for god's sake Stephen don't get hit by traffic doing it. You need to be careful in town with the buses. Be safe please 🙏
Great Video Steve I Enjoyed It Is That Sacred Heart Church A Catholic church? are The Beer Monsters Hooligans? There Was Something Funny In That Video The Tower Was In Blue Light And Then Top Of The Tower was Flashing Blue To Tell You It Is Going Down In Blackpool Keep Up The Great Videos They Are Fantastic Have A Great Night😊
When I see shut-up houses like that, I imagine how great it would be to move in and do it up and have all that space... But it would cost far more than I have or could borrow. And a bad neighbourhood, all boarded up houses, means you would never be safe from theft or fire. Makes me so sad.
Been living in a dicent size Victorian terrace house in a poor area of Blackpool for over 14 months. We have lovely neighbours on both sides and so far no problems. A lovely quiet road, unlike the flat we used to live next to a buisy railway station in Heartsfordshire.
Thanks for this walkabout but , Jesus wept!!! What is wrong with your council? Those are decent sized homes that just need refurbishing. I understand that the location may not be conducive for family homes but I can’t help thinking it’s a retrograde step to demolish long standing spacious terraced homes - especially when one of the streets is perfectly aligned with the tower!
Maybe Blackpool will become more popular in the coming years? Think of what The MacMaster said about EV's being 'about control', that is stopping us travelling distances. Certain greenie pushers want us to stop taking foreign hols, or certainly limiting us via carbon allowances. If you let them get their way with this then holidays in Blackpool and Skegness may increase.
