Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours held their 2019 Totally Models event on the 22nd and 23rd June, and what a cracker it was too. I've said it before that I'm not a great Model Layouts person but I can appreciate the patience and hard work that goes into creating these layouts. A variety of Heritage Trams were in service between Pleasure Beach and Fleetwood. A free Heritage bus Shuttle service operated between the Model exhibition at Blundell Street, Pleasure Beach, Starr Gate, Blackpool North Station and Blackpool South Station.
Thanks to everyone involved for a brilliant weekend. All your hard work is greatly appreciated. You even arranged for some nice weather too.

Another top class video, and whilst I'm not a modeller myself I can appreciate the attention to detail and work that goes into these layouts. I was quite impressed that the model Class 37 even sounded like one. The only criticism I have is that the Blackpool & Fleetwood layouts didn't have a model Mollsmyre lurking in the bushes filming the trams as they went by! :-)

Thank You. The model layouts certainly are works of art. I know for a fact that I do not have the patience to create anything like these. A mini Mollsmyre... I think not.

I'm not sure. I remember being told that it had been used as part of a floral display at some point.

why is it that you have to pay to get into the pleasure beach when you dont want to go on any of the rides and only want to look round it and maybe get something to eat and drink while walking round

I don't know mate. I remember years ago you could just wander about if you didn't feel like going on the rides.

@@mollsmyre It'll probably be partly because of the next generation of the family taking over with the desire to make more money coupled together with putting an end to the occasional bomb threats most likely.

As much as I admire the work put in to the layouts, it is constantly a source of annoyance that the models themselves are driven at wholly unrealistic speeds. 'Realism' is the key here; it is possible, to a certain extent, to get away with trains that are being driven too fast, but an elderly tram or bus moving at an apparent speed of 80mph along the streets and taking the bends virtually on two wheels is, of course, nonsense. To me, it is surprising that those modellers who strive for accuracy in their layouts show such disinterest for the accuracy of the 'speed' at which their models are driven. Slowing to a stop is another aspect which, too, is often overlooked.
