I find out what the fuss is about Blackpool’s new tram line and terminal. EMR Aurora documentary wins international award. The Bluebell Railway have an exciting moment with 32424 'Beachy Head'. Good to see a subscriber in a local Aldi - nice to have a chat about the Fleetwood line - asking for an update!

I remember when the only place you could get a tram in the UK (except heritage) wa Blackpool. I now have a tram stop a few minutes from where I live in Nottingham. I caught one today. Thank you Blackpool for keeping the tram dream alive

Nice to see Blackpool trams to run to and from Blackpool North tram stop. And Class 323 that were used on West Midlands Railway are to be transferred to Northern. And Avanti West Coast have just started using the Class 805 Evero Bi-Mode to Chester, Wrexham and North Wales. With the Class 807 to enter service later this year.

The 47 is there to supply electricity for the lighting, the kitchen car and the air conditioning for the mark 3, for shunting, and as a back-up in case SNG fails (although I'm not convinced a fifty-year old diesel is a reliable back-up for an eighty-year old seam loco).

Diesel powered by steam ?, will the steam be generated by electricity ? Reminds me of the steam locos in switzerland that used electricity from the overheads to raise steam in the boilers during the war because they couldn't get the coal, i'm wondering if that's the way our steam loco's will go in the future.

I think they'll be burning wood pellets, oil or LNG. Did you see the Talyllyn's video about trying compressed rapeseed waste - yellow coal!
