Blacks Did Not Ride the Back of the Bus During the Bus Boycotts: They Owned Them Here! 

In Winston-Salem, North Carolina, during segregation in the Jim Crow south, black residents found a way to own, operate, and run the biggest black owned bus company in the world. At a time when Rosa Parks took over the headlines, many didn't know Safe Bus Company existed at the same time, and blacks did not ride on the back of the bus: they owned them! Matter of fact, became the whole transit for the city: blacks and whites!
