Looks absolutely similar to the real thing. I once met a blacksmith at a historical park (Archeon, the Netherlands) and I asked him to forge me an arrowhead. It took him les than 10 minutes. Amazing indeed, and it gave me new insights in the production speed of skilled medieval weapon smiths.

And to think, in medieval times, smiths would probably be making each one with only one or two heats. And to have to forge hundreds upon hundreds of them each day!

2 heats is not a problem, one heat - I think it is possible.

So much time, skill and effort to produce those arrowheads. Compared to producing musket balls using molds. No wonder the longbows were discarded in favor of muskets.

Very cute puppy! Is the material just wrought iron?

No it is not wrought iron, it is low carbon steel (from the 20s or 30s).

Czy średniowieczne groty strzał były hartowane, czy pozostawione bez zmian?
@officinaferraria
@officinaferraria 2 года назад
były wykonywane z nisko węglowego materiału więc hartowanie nic by nie dało.

Żelazo i plastelina mają wiele wspólnego, kiedy się wie jak się z nimi obchodzić. :) Tyle że żelazo parzy w palce.
@officinaferraria

Parzy tylko pierwsze 3 razy, potem się go już nie dotyka.
