Whenever I hear the host say, "Surrender your weapon", I immediately imagine a scenario where the guy goes feral and just uses the weapon to kill everyone.
LOL! A LOT of people I know would take offense to someone telling them to "surrender their weapon." I know them and know they wouldn't do it, and neither would I. I know the people on the show aren't saying it menacingly; but, thems fightin' words where I come from :-)
"dude you're a fuckin loser. why didn't you make it sharp. get off my show." "but... i was trying to make it strong--" "sounds like something a loser would say"
Yeah take that old people! Me:but youre turning into an older man every second every hour every year (insert the guy with the gun pointed to his head by himself)
Actual blacksmiths: have different technology for different blades that have different purpose Tv blacksmiths: here is metal scrap, make a lightsaber in 3 hours
Well its a competition, its not meant to portray how one does their smithing in their normal life. A lot of these guys even say its intense and not how they would do it themselves.
@@netherdominater9960 I who is not even a blacksmith, just having some knowledge a out sword and smithing cant bear watching this show. Its pain to just watch them do and talk stupid sh1t. And penguinz0 obviously has no idea wtf he’s talking about.
@@BlueFlamer Oh, man... You missed it. In a blade group I'm part of, we have a meme war every time one of us appears on the show. My episode had some HILARIOUS memes. I don't feel any particular way about it, I guess. Just happy to be a part of all this, really.
Yeah forging a good blade takes waaaaay longer than 3 hours, what's the point? are they being trained just in case we need swords made in 3 hours we can get one that's just barely sharp enough and put together and can cut 2 french fries?
That Skill only applies when the ottomans are on the horizon and some idiot sold all the swords in the city so you have to forge new weapons from cutlery or some shit
The dude actually says “it will K.E.A.L.” Which stands for: K -keep E -everyone A -around L -living Which means you can protect yourself and others with it
I've been watching this show on-off regularly w/ my dad, and I've never actually seen any of the episodes where a blade fails so catastrophically that it just falls in two.
As funny as Charlie is, I'm not sure he understands how knives work. For a knife to cut straight through that many apples and not just knock them over it would have to be extremely sharp
You should host your own version of this called “swords: weebs vs hillbillies” but have a hillbilly weeb who feels conflicted about what team he’s on. I’d watch at least 20 episodes of that!
@@hazenroller-olson7065 I have a cousin named Gadour (pronounced gator) who’s a hillbilly weeb and would almost certainly compete in this, and probably place if I’m honest. He has a tattoo of his Waifu holding American and Japanese flags like a racing flag girl. He’s wild and needs a reality show for sure!
happens to me sometimes, it'll just recommend full movies. Usually B movies, animated knock off trash. I feel like youtube's calling me out in some way
0:52 "they look like they're about to go to the Renaissance faire to hit on some underage girls." That's actually how they got their start. They joined the 3 day blacksmith apprenticeship program as a cover, one thing led to another, and now they are all here.
I imagine that Tom forgot to make his sword and on the morning it was due he was desperately searching every antique shop and consignment store for something passable.
These are actually incredibly difficult tests actually though they may not look like it. Even skallagrim who is notorious for harsh testing on his RU-vid channel says that their testing is harsh.
It’s not meant to cut through it. The final weapons are put through three tests on the show. A lethality test, a durability test, and a sharpness test. The test at 1:00 was the durability test. It was meant to check if the blade can survive blows like that. Most of the blades they put through that type of test suffer some minor damaged, but they usually don’t snap in half like that one did, which is why it’s surprising.
