I just bought it and can't wait to get it in the mail. These kinds of modeling amps are perfect because they have a headphone output that I can connect to my big JBL PartyBox 310. And an amp that is already excellent becomes absolutely incredible when connected to the right speaker system. When I feel like it and want to play with something light, I can unplug it and use the amp alone. And the Blackstar Architect software is really excellent-intuitive, well-designed where it needs to be, simple, and so on. I still keep a tube amp with a 2x12 cab for when I want to change things up and need a big, full sound, but I stick with modeling amps because there's no need for big amps nowadays. I even have the little Positive Grid Spark Go.

NIce amp , I'm in the market for amp just for home use, the only problem is the software is only for Windows and Mac, I use open source I have a older machine , with Windows making many decent spec laptops and desktops redundant because of Windows 11 there's an incredible opportunity for major hardware brands to develop open source software and drivers, at least for Unbuntu based Linux OS,

I have an original version ID Core stereo 40 which I bought a few years ago at my local Music-Go-Round in order to upgrade and mod it in the extreme to my design specs and in all I put about $400 in the guitar including some tools to do the project. over all I have about $500 in the whole rig. My amp has most of the features that the V4 has less some of the newer ones. but still sounds great. If I want to go stealth mode with headphones where only I hear it aor if I want to really annoy my nosy neighbors I can just crank it up or if I really want it louder I can use an adaptor cable from the headphone out into the CD input of my surround sound receiver to get a deeper and more full tones from all the surround speakers including the powered subwoofer in the surround system. that really shakes the walls god... the guitar has a hand made custon extended brushed stainless steel pick guard loaded with 3 quad rail(quad coil) humbuckers wired like a 50's Les Paul with coil splitting. along with all the amp control;s and those in the guitar there are nearly unlimited tonal variations available. imagine the coil splits with a 5-way Fender blade switch and the bridge tone pot also a P/P to activate the bridge and neck P/O's together regardless of the 5-way position. so in Pos. 2, 3 and 4 I can have all 3 P/I's active together and when coi; split I can get close to single coil tones. in any combo I want. the wiring was quite the adventure but well worth the time and mental exercise it took to figure it out. It all works as designed and the space theme stars and planets paint scheme on the body and head stock are in lin with the new name I gave it. the "Stellarcaster" imagine the brushed stainless steel pick guard loaded with the 3 quad rails and the chrome Tele style knobs abd the chrome switch tip to match on the custom paint job. really cool looking and great playing guitar. played through a good small amp that is soon to be nodded with a pair of 1/4" switched extension speaker output jacks that will power a pair of 4X12" vertical/Tower speaker cabs that when stood together and the amp face down controls forward (internal speakers inactive when switched output jacks are in use) all together the cabs and amp make essentially a "Full Stack" ..... LOL so moch fun and O too cool as well...

I need to use a cable to connect to a computer to use the Architect software? No mobile phone app? No Bluetooth connection to the software?
@fariyanahmed6592
@fariyanahmed6592 6 месяцев назад
No app no bluetooth from what I researched, I am also confused but for the v4 you just need a usb C cable, which is 99% of phone chargers nowadays
@jamescreswell9037
@jamescreswell9037 5 месяцев назад
Correct. V4 is USB-C port cable only required to connect to Architect.

Hey ! I'd like to receive some help and advices ! I'm looking for a good practice amp, with good sound (mainly overdrive and good disto) I'd like to have a sound that feels 80's ish ! Some people like this amp and other straight up hates it... I don't really know what to think ! I'm playing for 1 year now; come from acoustic guitar. I already have a electric guitar, an Ibanez RGRT 421 ! Thx to the people who will take a bit of time to give some adivces :) ! Also does the 20w and 40w sound diffrent ? Just to know ! Wich one of these is better, Boss Katana 50 Gen 3 or the Blackstar ID Core 40w V4 ?

Bluetooth connectivity? I can't find anything about Bluetooth connectivity on the Blackstar website. Other images of the labels on these amps do not show the Bluetooth connection that appears on the labels in this video. Are there 2 versions of V4: with Bluetooth, and without Bluetooth?

Another reviewer said Blackstar advised him BT is coming this year for the range. So who knows, perhaps an updated version 4 will be out before long...?
@jamescreswell9037
@jamescreswell9037 5 месяцев назад
No BT in the ID:Core V4 any version (10, 20, 40) as yet TMK. And yes, that BT logo advertising on the demo amp here is confusing. Blackstar are stage remarketing the ID:Core line every couple of years now. V1, 2, 3 now 4. They need to leave some features out on each occasion so they have something to market as a UPDATED! NEW! excitement hype without a significant price increase in what is a cut-throat target demographic segment. IMV V4 was pretty much hype features because there's not too much they can do to improve excellence. Nevertheless, I'd say to expect BT integrated internally into V5 as everything else has been done without fundamental model change. As to seeing it in a subsequent production V4? Personally I doubt we'll see it within a V4.n as Blackstar precedentially don't do interim sub-model mod revisions. For those really wanting that feature in the interim, it's very easily and inexpensively implemented with an external BT TX/RX adapter which IMPE works latency issue free. For the past two or three years, I've just used an inexpensive TaoTronics rechargable external TX/RX BT adapter with mine. Perhaps Blackstar will market their own for the V4 in 2024 as an accessory value adding to the product? I'd suspect that more than internal BT integration before V5 unless they decide to market a parallel "with BT" model at a higher price point as a V4 DX (deluxe).

@@jamescreswell9037 That last bit is what the reviewer said was coming, 2024 Q2 updated models with BT at a higher price point. Guess we'll just have to see. And I can relate to the external TX/RX units. Used a 1Mii for years now to 'convert' my wired headphones to BT with no latency issues at all. I'd definitely use one with a combo if I already owned one. But since I picked up a Katana GO headphone amp, and am still looking at modern combo options, having it onboard is definitely a convenient plus if I can get it.

@@outermarker5801 If integrated BT Q2 or Q3 has been pre-announced, then that sounds about right. I expect that if they do it, it'll be a pretty full on integration including TX to the smartphone or PC for Live Streaming and maybe even Architect connectivity? I can see how for those who really crave and would use that functionality frequently, a concurrent model ID:Core V4 DX with that feature at a higher price point would be sought after and a popular alternative purchase. It's too soon for a V5 marketing release IMV. Buyers will wear not having the latest model after they have bought after the elapse of a couple of years without getting jaded with the brand, but not after six months. I concur that BT is super convenient for playing with backing tracks directly from my Smartphone, 90% of the time being what I use my adapter for.

Why do people hate this amp? I cant figure out why (although I've never heard this amp in person) but people say the roland microcube is way better and this amp is really bad compared to it.

I have the 40W version of this amp and it sounds great. I believe some people use too much gain when using these. Use less gain (and .010 gauge strings instead of .009s) and they sound great!

People are sheeple, and guitarists being predominantly right brainers, very much follow the flock peer approval seeking or promote only what they are familiar with, particularly if ownership pride interferes with objectivity. i.e. Katana fanboys are the prime example. Reason won't ever bypass their brand bias. The truth. The ID:Core 40 (all revisions) is an outstanding amp in its class. Outside America, better won't be found *at its price point* .

@@jamescreswell9037 Yep, bought one recently. It literally is an all in one package, you can use neural dsp and other amp sims with it without buying a dedicated audio interface which I think even the boss katana can't do.

@@jamescreswell9037You seem informal.. I was thinking of ditching my Spark 40 for one of these. I wanted to steer clear or app enabled amps and just plug dial a tone and play. I'm aware that you can shape tones with software with these but are they that good without the use of the apps.

Super Wide Stereo mode needs to be enabled. It's impact upon human aural perception in an average room at home is that of 'room filling sound'. And no, you don't need to be "very close like next to the amp" to hear its affect.
