The Blackswan 22 from Selway Fisher is a classic Gaff rigged cutter styled after UK working boats from the late 19th century. Influenced by smacks, pilot boats, or the Itchen Ferry, these boats generally were rigged with jibs and staysails on order to add extra power needed to get back to port in a hurry.
This boat is 22’ on deck by 8’6 beam. Overall length is 28’ and she tips the scales at just over 6,000 lbs. Accomodation is simple and she carries a small wood heater for the cold nights, or days.

Thanks Paolo. I did take some liberties with the cabin design that I liked better. Probably more work though than the plans.

It would be nice to have an update on this when you can. Has it been launched yet? Is it going to be kept at a mooring, or as a trailer sailer? If the latter, some images of it on its trailer would be really useful. I'm looking around for a classic gaff cutter to build, and this is at the top end of my size range, so I need to see how practical it would be for me.

Not launched yet. Got the Mahogany cruiser to complete first. Will be kept at a dock. Might suggest you look at the ptarmigan 17 which is a lot of boat a a true trailer sailor. Good luck. Will keep all posted at the launch.

I'm focused on finishing the 32 mahogany cruiser at the moment. Hoping to have all work completed this summer and get to cruising soon.

I need to work on videos that have more appeal. Hmmm..I will have to come up with some new ideas. In the mean time maybe somebody somewhere got some inspiration.
