After anxiously waiting to take the Blade 230 s RC helicopter out. I finally had my chance, after having a day with light winds. Check out my first flight with the 230 s, as i run threw two battery packs all to learn how this helicopter works and feels when its flying.
This flight mode that i was flying in, was the Stability Mode. This will allow the helicopter self level out when no commands are present. Even though i had one accidental crash from fighting the wind, the 230 s seems to be a very durable little helicopter. It took right back off again like nothing ever happen.
Overall this helicopter is a lot easier to fly then i was expecting. Al tho the throttle dose seem to be a bit sensitive for my experience level, its something that i just need to practice with as with everything. It just comes with more flight time and practice.
I hope you guys enjoyed this video. Be on the look out for more helicopter flying videos in the near future as i become more experienced flying the Horizon Hobby Blade 230 s.
Here is an over view of the Night 230 s Helicopter. This was taken from Horizon Hobby's website. www.horizonhobb...

A flight sim works great. I had a few electric heli's, and a few nitro ones, and I crashed a LOT with them. I purchased a sim program, and flew a lot of hours, and it made a lot of difference with both heli's, and planes. Great video, and awesome flying for a noob.

+RakinBill thanks bill! And yup already planning for a sim shortly. Lol as of today i now have flown about 16 times since last week. Got down figure 8s in either directions nose pointed in flight/hovering and getting better at making smoother stick movements. Ill shoot another video in a week or two as an update to my flying progress. Thanks for watching again!

+Sweet Rc trust me my heart was pounding. But the few things to remember is patients, basic movements, and dont be afraid to crash it seriously. Like you saw i crashed it my first time out. Since then ive flown 16 times already and crashed about 6 times. Its gonna happen, already replaced the blades both main and tail. But now i can do figure 8s and nose in flying a little bit. Its practice practice practice. Hardest thing for me is ive been flying in a small backyard. Not an open field so i have a lot to watch out for. But i think it's also added to helping me be a better pilot. And start small and cheap! Drones help a lot two ive been flying several drones for a wile. They tend to fly similar so it dose help.

Wow thanks! What do you think would be a good beginner heli/drone?
@RCOverloadYT
@RCOverloadYT 8 лет назад
+Sweet Rc start small. Blade 120s are great and will get you a hood understanding of flying before going bigger. I had the old 120sr witch i still fly once in a wile it certainly helped a lot. Also look into a simulator. Biggest help ive ever had!

Thanks Matt! I'll definitely be looking into it!! I really appreciate the fact that you responded... And with good advice! Thanks again!

+Sweet Rc haha no problem man. I try my hardest to keep up with all the comments. And plus i don't just want others to enjoy watching what i do, i want them to also realize that everything I'm doing they can do as well. So what i learn threw out my own adventure i try to pass on on to others when i can. Hope you continue to enjoy the show buddy! By the way like i mentioned before...your gonna crash your heli. Well ya i did today big time... bent the tail boom almost in half...haha o well shit happens time for some upgrades and get back flying. Also parts for helis are sooo cheap in comparison to trucks. Lol

Check your blade tracking, and check the blade balance as well. Both can affect liftoff, and landing. Also check the pitch on both blades to make sure they are even. I noticed the vibration when the blades were spooling down, and that can be from unbalanced blades.
@RCOverloadYT
@RCOverloadYT 8 лет назад
+RakinBill hey bill, yes you are correct. Last night i installed some aluminum servo horns from a 300. Also installed the stock normal white main blades as well. Centered servos, leveled out the swashplate, and adjusted the pitch. Today i took it out and did a trim flight. 150% difference in the way it flys. So much more control, so much smoother then before. Learning something new each time im taking it out now! Haha

You fucked up several pieces in that crash lol. Wobbled like crazy when you landed. Too much head speed, you have a blade strike, it's over, main and feather, blade's lol. Have fun

It's been a year and a half, are you still flying it? Move on to something different? What did you practice on before the 230S? I got the nanoCPS but it's an out of control little bug and I hate it so far. My 120S is much easier to fly.

Damn noisy intro and then damn noisy "music" just when I wanted to hear how the heli sounded. Waste of time. Why?

After a few months of experience. . would you still recommend the Blade 230 for learning cp flying? greets from germany
@RCOverloadYT
@RCOverloadYT 7 лет назад
+Dome W. O most definitely! It was my second helicopter after flying a 120s for a wile. Its a big learning curve but having the Safe Technology really helped. Im still no expert but at least i can fly forward and backward facing without any problems now.

when you get the cg corrected the heli should be able to hover hands-free

+WC Wickedclown RC inc haha, on your last comment. For some reason i thought you were talking about the video color..... guess its been a long day. Lol But regarding the heli. Yes i got it fixed by performing a trim flight with it. Its very stable now.

+WC Wickedclown RC inc not sure what you mean. It actually looks a lot better then most of my videos... the expo was turned up slightly but in the shots i couldn't go much brighter or my face would white its self out.... could you explain a little more were your finding the problems with the cg? I apriceat it. As im always trying to improve the quality of the videos
